This study aims to evaluate e-learning acceptance through the UTAUT model by showing the contributing variables to the acceptance of e-learning in a Postgraduate Program at Universitas Negeri Makassar, Indonesia. This study was an ex post facto study with 170 samples distributed proportionally. The data were collected through a questionnaire that was developed from UTAUT model variables and indicators. The data collected were analyzed by path. The results of the e-learning acceptance evaluation based on the hypothesis test showed that facilitating conditions, behavioral intention, effort expectancy, performance expectancy, and social influence significantly and positively affected behavioral intention. Facilitating conditions and behavioral intention significantly and positively affected the e-learning acceptance. Variables that greatly contributed to the higher or lower e-learning acceptance were facilitating conditions and behavioral intention. Facilitating conditions were strongly affected by the students’ knowledge and internet speed. Meanwhile, the behavioral intention was strongly influenced by the level of students’ belief in the future of e-learning and students’ eagerness that e-learning be integrated in every subject. Nevertheless, social influence variables need more attention for implementing a better and sustainable e-learning system.
Online learning is a flexible and distributed distance learning system. The motivation of lecturers and students is one of key factors determining the acceptance and use of online learning in higher education. This research is aimed at empirically developing and testing a measurement model of several motivational constructs with the assumptions of indicators that build it. This research proposes a theoretical model which can be integrated into three motivational theories: ARCS, McClelland's needs, and Self-Determination Theory (SDT). The construct indicators were developed and then validated empirically at two universities in Makassar, Indonesia. A quantitative method with survey approach was used. The research sample consisted of 71 lecturers and 210 students selected purposively. The analysis of measurement models used partial least square (PLS). The results show that the construct of motivation with indicators that built it met validity and reliability requirements. The results of this research present two alternative instruments for explaining the relationship between motivational factors including the indicators that influence the use of online learning systems in tertiary institutions.
This study aimed to analyze the effect of IS Success Model variable on Edmodo's e-learning user satisfaction partially, both directly and indirectly through the TAM variable. This research was conducted through an ex-post-facto approach to undergraduate students. Data collection instruments used questionnaire and observation. The questionnaire was developed from the technology acceptance model (TAM) and information system (IS) success model. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and path analysis using IBM SPSS 20 program. The results showed that the three core variables of the IS Success model directly had a significant effect on the two core variables of TAM, and the two core variables of TAM directly affected user satisfaction. Indirectly, the three core variables of IS Success model had a significant effect on user satisfaction through the two core variables of TAM. Service Quality, also, to provide a more significant direct effect on perceived usefulness, also indirectly influenced user satisfaction through perceived usefulness. Perceived ease of use had more significant direct and indirect effects through perceived usefulness on Edmodo e-learning user satisfaction.
This study aims to gather various information for the formulation of a conceptual model of user satisfaction e-learning Edmodo. The preliminary study conducted through literature study and field study on students of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar, Indonesia. The study resulted in the integration of two models of the user acceptance technology, i.e., technology acceptance model (TAM) from Davis et al. and information system model (IS) success from DeLone & McLean. The conceptual model of Edmodo e-learning user satisfaction generated in this research is a reference for model development and policy formulation in the implementation and development of Edmodo's ongoing e-learning content in universities.
