With the impact of the financial crisis the fragilities of public powers have exposed the "European social model". With the escalation of long-term unemployment and precariousness, the youth seems to be increasingly exposed to social exclusion and poverty, thus bulking up the ranks of the "new poor". With the generalization of precariousness and poverty, along with the complexification of the class structures as a structuring mechanism of inequalities and the profound transformations, the sociological debate is summoned to place new questions in order to think a social reality in rapid transformation. In this context, with statistical data on the European continent and taking the youth and precariousness as the central object of analysis, this article seeks to reflect the impacts of the transformations that work has suffered along with the reconfiguration of the class structures in the proliferation of "new" forms of poverty in Europe.
