This research aims to find any errors that is often done by students in problem solving of mathematics on the set of the material is reviewed from cognitive style. Cognitive styles are divided into cognitive style of Field Independence and Field Dependence. The research is conducted for students of IKIP PGRI Madiun. The forms of research which is used in this research is a qualitative research, with a research strategy is descriptive qualitative. Subjects of research is by using sample selection, it is aimed (purposive sample), it is selected four subjects of research, 2 subjects have cognitive style of Field Independence and 2 subjects have cognitive style of Field Dependence. Technique of collecting data is by using the test method includes a written test and GEFT, interview and documentation. Technique validity data is by using triangulation techniques with the steps in data analysis is data reduction, data displaying, and verification. The result of this research can be described, as follows: the students who have cognitive style of Field Independence tend to make error in organizing the data and get error in conclusion drawing, while the students who have cognitive style of Field Dependence tend to make a procedural error in using the work procedures, get errors in organizing data, get errors in conducting manipulation systematically and get errors in conclusion drawing.
Technological developments have an impact on the education sector. This study aims to develop and produce android-based learning media on the subject of quadratic equations and knowing the ability to understand material concepts. This type of research is Research and Development. The research model used is the ADDIE model which consists of 5 steps namely (1) analysis (analyze), (2) design (design), (3) development (develpoment), (4) implementation (5), (5) and evaluation (evaluation). This research was conducted at Jiwan State Vocational High School 2. The subjects in this study were the tenth grade students of Machining Technique. The instruments used were learning implementation plans, media validation sheets, student response questionnaire sheets, and post test questions. The results showed that: (1) M-Learning fulfills the element of validity with the average results obtained from the media validation sheet from media experts amounting to 97.33% and from material experts at 88.33%. (2) M-Learning is able to give a positive influence seen from the results of the post test with a percentage of 92.37% and (3) The response of students after using M-Learning in the main field test shows a percentage of 83.68%, so as to attract students in the process learning.
Technology integration in the learning process is needed in the technological era as a form of development of teaching materials that can improve students’ metacognitive abilities. This study aims to develop valid, practical, and effective topology teaching materials based on students’ metacognitive abilities. Research and development follow the steps of developing a 4-D model that includes Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The results showed that topology teaching materials met the validity criteria of 82.50%. Practicality is 82.92% in the small scale test and field test with practicality is 85.02%. Then teaching materials meet the effectiveness with limited trials of 83.33% and field tests of 87.5%. Based on these results, topology teaching materials can be used as learning resources in measuring metacognitive abilities.
(2) subjek rightt brain dominance memenuhi tiga aspek memenuhi tiga aspek kemampuan metakognitif yaitu mengembangkan perencanaan, memonitor pelaksanaan dan mengevaluasi tindakan dan dari ketiga aspek yang termunculkan siswa dengan right brain dominance memiliki tingkat kemampuan metakognitif aware use dan strategic use Abstract This study aims to analyze the metacognitive abilities of junior high school students in solving problems in the number pattern material in terms of brain dominance. In determining subjects based on brain dominance of VIIIC grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Madiun. Based on the brain dominance questionnaire distributed obtained 4 subjects consisting of 2 subjects left brain dominance and 2 subjects right brain dominance. The type of research used is qualitative research. Data collection techniques in this study are based on the results of questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The data validity technique is done by triangulation techniques. Data analysis was performed by data reduction, data presentation, and data verification and conclusion drawing. The conclusions from the results of this study are (1) the left brain dominance subject fulfills three aspects of fulfilling three aspects of metacognitive abilities namely developing planning, monitoring implementation and evaluating actions and of the three aspects that arise students with left brain dominance have a level of reflective use metacognitive ability. (2) the rightt brain dominance subject fulfills three aspects of meeting three aspects of metacognitive abilities, namely developing planning, monitoring implementation and evaluating actions and of the three aspects that arise students with right brain dominance have a level of metacognitive abilities aware of use and strategic use
