La producción de lima mexicana Citrus aurantifolia (Christm) Swingle, es baja durante los meses de diciembre a abril y ocasionan mayor demanda y alta rentabilidad del cultivo. El estudio consistió en inducir la floración mediante la aplicación de fitohormonas y bioestimulantes para obtener producción y calidad de lima mexicana en invierno. Los efectos en la inducción a f loración ocurrieron a los 30 días después de la aplicación de urea realizada en agosto, mientras tanto presentaron floración a los 45 días con biofol, ácido glutámico, urea y testigo absoluto e inducidas octubre, noviembre y la primera quincena de diciembre en árboles, mientras que fue ligeramente moderada con ácido giberélico y baja en el testigo intacto (sin aplicación). Los rendimientos de la producción fueron de 9 763 kg ha-1 con biofol, decayeron a 80, 70 y 65% con ácido glutámico, testigo absoluto y urea, mismo que fueron moderadamente bajos con ácido giberélico, ácido naftalénacetico, paclobutrazol y thidiazuron y muy bajos con ácido 2-cloroetilfosfónico y el testigo intacto. Los frutos adquirieron una mayor calidad en peso, diámetro, índice de color, porcentaje de jugo, acidez titulable, firmeza e índice de madurez con el biofol, ácido glutámico y urea. El biofol, ácido glutámico y urea como bioestimulantes inducen oportunamente la floración y fructificación en lima mexicana de invierno y favorecen en la calidad de los frutos y sustentabilidad del cultivo.
Objective: To evaluate the effect of hydrogen peroxide, potassium sorbate, sodium bicarbonate, and chitosan on mycelial growth and in vitro germination of Colletotrichum sp., to be used for future management of anthracnose disease in postharvest cv. Ataulfo mango fruit. Design/Methodology/Approach: The effectiveness of the treatments was evaluated using the poisoned culture method. The evaluated concentrations of hydrogen peroxide and potassium sorbate were 1.0, 0.8, 0.6, 0.4, 0.2, 0.16, 0.12, 0.08, and 0.04 %; sodium bicarbonate, 1.0, 0.8, 0.6, 0.4 and 0.2 %; and chitosan, 2.5, 2.0, 1.5, 1.0 and 0.5 %. A 6-day disk of Colletotrichum sp. mycelial growth was placed in each poisoned culture medium. The inhibition of mycelial growth and the germination of Colletotrichum sp. conidia were evaluated. The experimental design was completely randomized with five repetitions for mycelial growth and four for conidium germination. The results were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test and the comparison of average ranges. The CE50 and CE95 of each product was estimated using Probit analysis with the results of mycelial growth inhibition. Results: The mycelial growth inhibition (100%) of the Colletotrichum sp. strain was reached starting at concentrations of 0.16, 0.2, 1.0, and 2.5% for hydrogen peroxide, potassium sorbate, sodium bicarbonate, and chitosan, respectively. The inhibition of conidium germination was only observed in treatments with hydrogen peroxide and potassium sorbate. The CE50 and CE95 for hydrogen peroxide was 0.1 and 0.12%; for potassium sorbate, 0.10 and 0.19%; for sodium bicarbonate, 0.16 and 0.88%; and for chitosan, 1.20 and 2.18%. Findings/Conclusions: The evaluated treatments represent an effective and viable ecological alternative for the control of Colletotrichum sp., causal agent of anthracnosis in mango fruit.
Muestras de árboles de lima 'Persa', de 5 a 8 años de edad, con síntomas de gomosis, canceres y muerte descendente de ramas fueron colectadas en huertos de los municipios de Tlaltizapán, Ayala, Coatlán del Río y Amayuca en el estado de Morelos, México, durante agosto del 2015. Las muestras fueron procesadas mediante procedimientos de rutina, sembradas en papadextrosa-agar y purificadas mediante puntas de hifa. Los patógenos aislados fueron inoculados en plantas sanas para evaluar su patogenicidad. Se realizó la identificación morfológica y molecular y se construyó un árbol filogenético bayesiano con agrupamiento de clados. Con base a caracteres morfológicos se identificó a Lasiodiplodia sp. El análisis molecular determinó 16 aislados, que se agruparon en 4 clados y tres especies, Lasiodiplodia citricola, L. pseudotheobromae y L. theobromae, las cuales son consideradas como nuevos reportes causando enfermedad en lima 'Persa' para el Estado de Morelos, México. Samples of 'Persian' lime trees, from 5 to 8 years old, with symptoms of gummosis, cankers and dieback of branches were collected in orchards in the municipalities of Tlaltizapan, Ayala, Coatlan del Rio and Amayuca in the state of Morelos, Mexico, during August 2015. The samples were processed by routine procedures and sown in potato dextrose-agar and purified by means of hypha tips. The isolated pathogens were inoculated in healthy plants in order to evaluate their pathogenicity. Morphological and molecular identification was carried out and a Bayesian phylogenetic tree was constructed with clades grouping.
Los frutos de papaya (Carica papaya L.) son muy susceptibles a los daños mecánicos, lo que repercute en fuertes pérdidas en poscosecha. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar el comportamiento mecánico de frutos de papaya en poscosecha, para lo cual se realizaron dos experimentos en el Campo Experimental Las Huastecas, INIFAP durante los años 2011 y 2012. Las variables evaluadas fueron la fuerza y la deformación requeridas por los frutos para alcanzar el límite elástico, el punto de biocedencia y el punto de ruptura. La compresión se realizó con un Instron Universal 4460. En el primer experimento se evaluaron frutos en madurez de consumo tratados en pre-cosecha con cinco combinaciones de fertilización; los tratamiento N-P-K-Cu-Zn, N-P-K-Ca- Zn, N-P-K y N-P-K-Fe-Zn registraron mayor resistencia a la fuerza de compresión y resultaron diferentes al tratamiento N-P-K-Mn-Zn (Tukey, p≤ 0.05). En el segundo experimento se evaluaron tres cultivares en dos estados de madurez; los frutos en madurez fisiológica fueron más resistentes para alcanzar el límite elástico (414 N), con relación a los frutos en madurez de consumo (67 N), con diferencias estadísticas (Tukey, p≤ 0.05). Los frutos del híbrido PK 02 requirieron mayor fuerza para alcanzar el límite elástico (298 N), con relación a los frutos de la variedad Maradol roja (250 N) y del híbrido PK 03 (173 N), con diferencias (Tukey, p≤ 0.05). Se concluye que los frutos de papaya tuvieron un comportamiento mecánico diferente, en función del manejo nutricional, del tipo de cultivar y del estado de madurez.
