Le livre se compose de 3 parties : -La première concerne les mycoses et les pseu domycoses. Parmi ces dernières sont traités, malgré l'incertitude de leur origine étiologique, l'érythrasma et la trichomycose ; elles comportent d'autre part l'étude de l'actinomycose et de la nocardiose (pseudomycoses profondes), ainsi que des mycétomes actinomycosiques ou fun giques. Ne figurent pas dans cette section les allergies fungiques, ni les intoxications alimen taires d'origine fungique.On trouvera dans ce chapitre les renseignements d'ordre clinique, diagnostique ou théra peutique relatifs à ces maladies.-La seconde partie est consacrée aux agents étiologiques de ces mycoses et pseudo mycoses. Le plan adopté est à la fois clinique (en ce sens qu'il étudie les germes par maladie prise isolément) et systématique car un rappel taxinomique situe chacun de ces germes dans la classification générale. Les espèces pathogènes, responsables d'une affection mycosique, et les maladies elles-mêmes, sont énumérées par ordre alphabétique.Cette section est très abondamment et remarquablement illustrée, tant en ce qui concerne les lésions macroscopiques que les coupes histo-pathologiques, les radiographies et les aspects parasitaires ou en culture des champignons pathogènes.-La troisième partie est dédiée à la technique : la composition des milieux de culture est donnée pour les milieux usuels, de conservation, ou spéciaux permettant l'identification, l'isolement ou la culture de divers champignons (Aspergillus, Histoplasmes, certaines Actinomycétales).Les techniques générales lui font suite (purification des cultures ; cultures sur lame ; examen direct et culture des prélèvements cliniques). Enfin, certaines techniques particulières sont décrites pour l'étude des levures, l'isolement à partir du sol des Dermatophytes, la mise en évidence de l'acido-résistance des Nocardia, etc.
