This work explains the comparison of various dc-dc converters for photovoltaic systems. In recent day insufficient energy and continues increasing in fuel cost, exploration on renewable energy system becomes more essential. For high and medium power applications, high input source from renewable systems like photovoltaic and wind energy system turn into difficult one, which leads to increase of cost for installation process. So the generated voltage from PV system is boosted with help various boost converter depends on the applications. Here the various converters are like boost converter, buck converter, buck-boost converter, cuk converter, sepic converter and zeta converter are analysed for photovoltaic system, which are verified using matlab / simulink.
This paper proposes maximum boost control for 7-level z-source cascaded h-bridge inverter and their affiliation between voltage boost gain and modulation index. Z-source network avoids the usage of external dc-dc boost converter and improves output voltage with minimised harmonic content. Z-source network utilises distinctive LC impedance combination with 7-level cascaded inverter and it conquers the conventional voltage source inverter. The maximum boost controller furnishes voltage boost and maintain constant voltage stress across power switches, which provides better output voltage with variation of duty cycles. Single phase 7-level z-source cascaded inverter simulated using matlab/simulink.
Due to its advantages such as it can defeat problems such as leakage current and insertion of DC in the grid and provides low stress on power devices, Diode-clamped three-level inverter (DCTLI) is habitually used in transformerless photovoltaic (PV) connected to grid network. But it still has a problem of shoot-through which dwells in its legs, so its operation not reliable. Z source network is employed to permit operation without shoot through risk and improve its reliability. Coupled inductors are replaced the line transformers in to attain lower cost, reduced size, and improved its reliability and efficiency. Coupled inductor which avoids leakage current problem and losses. It employs coupled inductor z source diode clamped three level inverter (CI-Z-DC-TLI) to boost the voltage and further progress the consistency of the proposed system by avoiding the shoot through the problem. The proposed system assures that common-mode voltage and shoot-through risk is avoided. Moreover, controlling DC-TLI with Hysteresis SVM algorithm which improves output voltage and current control. Simulation and experimental results of this proposed system were analyzed using MATLAB environment and FPGA hardware.

Carbide sludge (10.4-11.5 tonnes day(-1)) is generated from the reaction of calcium carbide (900 kg) and water (6,000 L) in the production of acetylene (2,400 m3), in three selected acetylene manufacturing plants. The sludge (of pH 12.2 and containing Cu, Pb, Fe, Mn, Ni and Zn ions whose concentrations exceed the Department of Environment limits for industrial wastewater) was treated by vacuum filtration as a substitute for the ponding system, which is environmentally less acceptable. A similar system by flocculation was also developed. The filtration system represents an improvement over the ponding method, as shown by a pH of 7 for the clear filtrate; the solid cake, which contains 98% of the metals, can be conveniently disposed at an integrated scheduled waste treatment centre.
Unmanned and Autonomous Ground Vehicle (UAGV) is a smart vehicle that capable of doing tasks without the need of human operator. The automated vehicle can work during off and on road navigation and also used in military operation such as detecting bombs, border patrol, carrying cargos, search, rescue etc reducing soldier’s exposure to danger, freeing them to perform other duties. This type of vehicle mainly uses sensors to observe the environment and automatically take decisions on its own in unpredictable situation and with unknown information or pass this information to the operator who control the UAGV through various communication when it requires support. This UAGV can send visual feedbacks to the operator at the ground station. An onboard sensor gives the complete environment of the vehicle as signals to the operator.

The high demand of automobiles has also increased the traffic hazards and the road accidents. Life of the people is under high risk. This is because of the lack of best emergency facilities available in our country. An automatic alarm device for vehicle accidents is introduced in this paper. This design is a system which can detect accidents in significantly less time and sends the basic information to first aid centre within a few seconds covering geographical coordinates, the time and angle in which a vehicle accident had occurred. This alert message is sent to the rescue team in a short time, which will help in saving the valuable lives. A Switch is also provided in order to terminate the sending of a message in rare case where there is no casualty, this can save the precious time of the medical rescue team. When the accident occurs the alert message is sent automatically to the rescue team and to the police station. The message is sent through the GSM module and the location of the accident is detected with the help of the GPS module.

This paper illustrates the simulation of 3-phase matrix converter using Space Vector Modulation (SVM). Variable AC output voltage engendered using matrix converter with bidirectional power switches controlled by appropriate switching pulse. The conventional PWM converter engenders switching common mode voltage across the load system terminals, which cause to common mode current and its leads to bearing failure in load drive. These problems can be rectified using SVM and which minimize the effect on the harmonic fluctuation in AC output voltage and stress on the power switch is reduced using bidirectional switch for proposed 3-phase matrix converter. The simulation results have been presented to validate the proposed system using matlab / simulink.
