SINOPSE -Analisamos 32 casos de hidrocefalia intra-uterina diagnosticados no Service de Obstetr fcia da Escola Paulista de Medicina, no perfodo de 1978 a 1990, quando foram realizados 11.978 partos, refletindo uma prevalencia de 2,66/1.000 nascimentos. Os "conceptos" foram divididos em dois gru pos: A e B. Dezessete casos f oram analisados retrospectivamente (grupo A) e quinze, prospectivamen te, baseados em um protocolo interdiscip linar. Realizamos nove procedimentos intra-utero, do is no gru po A e sete no grup o B. A cotocacao de derivacao ventriculo-amniotica foi efetuada em um dos casos e cefalocenteses de repeticao em outro . A mortalidade neonatal tardia foi de 40,62%, ocorrendo em 64,70% no grupo A e 13,53% no grupo B. No parto por via vaginal, a mortalidade fo i de 88,9%, en quanto que no parto cesareo foi de 21,72%. A hidrocefalia fetal, com alta prevalencia em nosso meio, constituiu-se em serio problema, sendo fundamental um trabalho interdisciplinar para 0 estudo e con trole desta patologia.Palavras-chave -Hidr ocefa lia intra-uterina , cefalocenteses, derivacao ventriculo-amni6tica .
