ResumoUm dos principais fatores limitantes na utilização dos concretos refratários é a necessidade de longos ciclos de secagem, uma vez que taxas de aquecimento elevadas podem ocasionar explosão, principalmente quando são utilizadas baixas temperaturas de cura (<21 ºC). Neste trabalho, estudou-se a influência da temperatura de cura na resistência à explosão de concretos refratários de alta alumina com ultrabaixo teor de cimento. Os resultados indicaram que a ocorrência de explosão nos concretos curados em baixas temperaturas não pode ser atribuída unicamente à desidratação das fases do cimento, uma vez que a água livre se mostrou como a principal responsável pela pressurização da estrutura durante a secagem.
