Although the emphasis on behaviors of hand-washing and mask-wearing was repeated during the pandemic of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), not everyone paid enough attention to this. A descriptive statistic was used to make sense of the status of hand hygiene and mask-wearing among primary school students in Wuhan, China. A binary logistic regression analysis was conducted to identify the risk factors affecting the behaviors of hand-washing and mask-wearing. p < 0.05 (two-sides) was considered as significant at statistics. 42.05% of the primary school students showed a good behavior of hand-washing, while 51.60% had a good behavior of mask-wearing. Gender, grade, out-going history, father's occupation, mother's educational background, and the time filling out the survey were significantly associated with hand hygiene, whereas grade, mother's educational background, and residence were associated with mask-wearing. The behaviors of hand-washing and mask-wearing among primary school students were influenced by gender, grade, shady is back tell a friendand other factors, therefore, parents should make efforts of behavior guidance whereas governments should enlarge medium publicity.
The deflection ratio of the bridge is an important design parameter influencing the stability of the low-to-medium speed maglev train by affecting the levitation gap. This study focuses on the dynamic interaction of the low-to-medium speed maglev train and bridges with different vertical deflection ratios and investigates the required bridge vertical deflection ratio for the stability of the maglev train. The experimental investigation is carried out first. Then, a numerical dynamic interaction model is established and verified based on the field tests. And then, the influence of the vertical deflection ratio of a 25 m simply supported girder on the dynamic responses is discussed, as well as the bridges with the same deflection ratio but different span lengths. Finally, the maximum deflection ratios for the bridges with different span lengths are proposed and also compared with that of the existing maglev lines around the world. The study shows that when the deflection ratio reaches a certain level, the dynamic responses increase dramatically. The proposed allowable deflection ratios of bridges with different span lengths can not only ensure the smooth running of the train but also reduce the costs.
Despite the growing recognition regarding the carbon cycle in the rhizosphere of upland ecosystems, little is known regarding the rhizosphere effect on soil organic carbon (SOC) mineralization in tidal marsh soils. In the current study, in situ rhizobox experiments (including rhizosphere and inner and outer bulk soil) were conducted in an estuarine tidal marsh. Our results showed that a higher abundance of total bacteria, Geobacter, dsrA and mcrA and lower α-diversity were observed in the rhizosphere relative to the bulk soil. Rhizosphere effects shifted the partition of terminal metabolic pathways from sulfate reduction in the bulk soil to the co-dominance of microbial Fe(III) and sulfate reduction in the rhizosphere. Although the rhizosphere effect promoted the rates of three terminal metabolic pathways, it showed greater preference towards microbial Fe(III) reduction in the tidal marsh soils. Plant species had little impact on the partitioning of terminal metabolic pathways, but did affect the potential of total SOC mineralization together with the abundance and diversity of total bacteria. Both the rhizosphere effect and plant species influenced the bacterial community composition in the tidal marsh soils; however, plant species had a less pronounced impact on the bacterial community compared with that of the rhizosphere effect.
The impact of optical receiver configuration on in-band crosstalk-induced penalty has been investigated in both theoretical and experimental analyses, for differential phase-shift keying (DPSK) and differential quadrature phase-shift keying (DQPSK) signals. Previously it has been shown that DPSK signals are ~6 dB more tolerant to in-band crosstalk than on-off keying (OOK) signals. However, we find that the tolerance difference between the two signals is reduced to ~3 dB when the decision threshold of the receiver is optimized to minimize the bit-error rate for each signal. Then we derive simple equations for the in-band crosstalk-induced penalty in DPSK and DQPSK signals with two different optical receiver configurations: balanced and single-ended direct-detection receivers. We confirm that the penalties obtained from our simple equations agree well with the measured results.
