RESUMO Diante da necessidade de diversificação dos monocultivos de plantas forrageiras, novas cultivares estão sendo introduzidas no mercado. Objetivou-se, com este trabalho, avaliar as características da Brachiaria hibrida cv. Mulato II, conhecida como CONVERT HD 364, submetida a diferentes doses de adubação nitrogenada, utilizando a ureia como fonte de nitrogênio. O experimento foi conduzido em blocos casualizados, com seis tratamentos (doses de 0, 50, 100, 150, 200 e 250 kg/ha de N) e quatro repetições, em parcelas de 9 m². As doses foram parceladas em quatro vezes, aplicadas após cada corte. Verificou-se que as maiores doses proporcionaram acréscimos sobre a altura de plantas, produção de massa verde, massa seca, massa seca de folhas e colmos. Ao mesmo tempo, houve decréscimos na porcentagem de massa seca do capim Convert. As doses de 200 e 250 kg/ha de N são as mais recomendadas para o capim Convert.
RESUMO A solarização é uma técnica de tratamento térmico que foi desenvolvida no Oriente Médio na década de 70, ao qual era utilizado para desinfestar solos e substratos. A técnica se destaca pela eficiência, baixo custo e também por não agredir o meio ambiente. No Brasil essa técnica é pouco conhecida, o método é recomendado especialmente para culturas de ciclo curto e sistema radicular pouco profundo, como as hortaliças. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a temperatura do solo em diferentes profundidades e períodos com e sem cobertura do solo na região de Tangará da Serra-MT. O trabalho foi desenvolvido no campo experimental da Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (UNEMAT) campus de Tangará da Serra-MT. O delineamento utilizado foi em blocos ao acaso (DBC), sendo um bifatorial composto pelos fatores profundidade do sensor (2,7 cm, 7,3 cm, 19,7 cm e 53,1 cm) e manejo do solo (com cobertura e sem cobertura plástica), com observações diárias. As avaliações foram realizadas no decorrer de oito dias após a instalação, e foram feitas através do termômetro termistor e um datalogger. Conclui-se que a temperatura do solo apresenta maior amplitude térmica em camadas superficiais e a medida que se aumenta a profundidade do solo a temperatura tende a diminuir. RESUMO O Passiflora gibertii N.E Brown tem acenado com contribuições importantes na área do melhoramento genético do maracujazeiro. Contudo, ainda são poucos os relatos na literatura envolvendo a caracterização desses frutos. Além disso, para o melhoramento genético, tal caracterização possui grande importância quando se refere à determinação da variabilidade genética de uma espécie que pode subsidiar programas de melhoramento genético. Deste modo, o objetivo desse trabalho visa a caracterização dos frutos, bem como quantificar a divergência genética entre os acessos de Passiflora gibertii N. E. Brown. Foram avaliados 10 acessos de P. gibertii adotando o delineamento inteiramente casualizado, quatro repetições e cinco frutos por parcela. Foram avaliadas as seguintes características: massa de frutos, comprimento dos frutos, diâmetro dos frutos, formato do fruto, porcentagem de polpa, sólidos solúveis totais, acidez total titulavel, pH e ratio. Nos acessos avaliados verificou-se a existência variabilidade genética quanto às características físicas e químicas avaliadas, permitindo selecionar plantas com elevado potencial para fins de melhoramento genético, além disso, as características massa de fruto, comprimento do fruto e diâmetro de fruto, são as que mais contribuem para a diversidade genética dos acessos de Passiflora gibertii N.E Brown, constatando que o método UPGMA foi eficiente na estimação da divergência genética da espécie estudada.
