Pacientes com dor miofascial mastigatória relatam uma maior deficiência cervical, que, por sua vez, está correlacionada com a sensibilidade muscular regional. A sensibilidade é atribuída a uma cascata de reações que acontecem no organismo e que levam a uma maior percepção da dor pelo indivíduo, influenciadas pelo estado emocional do mesmo. Situações de estresse geram alterações no equilíbrio do eixo hipotálamo-hipófise-adrenal (HHA) e isso afeta diretamente na resposta muscular dos pontos gatilhos presentes nos Distúrbios Temporomandibulares de origem muscular. Levando em consideração a atual situação mundial, marcada por importantes crises na saúde pública e, mais recentemente, a pandemia causada pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2, com o intuito de discutir sobre a influência do estado emocional na DTM, propomos um levantamento dos níveis de ansiedade presentes entre os estudantes da Escola Superior de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade do Estado do Amazonas.
A popularização da internet possibilitou às novas tecnologias um papel mais significativo na educação. Nesse contexto, o estudo da histopatologia está inserido nesse processo através da criação de algumas ferramentas como a Microscopia Virtual (MV). A MV consiste na utilização de lâminas histopatológicas digitalizadas a partir de amostras em lâminas de vidro. O objetivo geral do estudo foi avaliar a percepção dos alunos de medicina e odontologia de uma instituição pública de ensino em relação à utilização da MV no ensino da histopatologia. Trata-se de um estudo de corte transversal de análise descritiva prospectiva quanti-qualitativo. Os estudantes foram convidados a participar da pesquisa e após concordarem com o Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido, responderam um questionário eletrônico, em escala Likert, com perguntas relacionadas à experiência prévia em outras disciplinas com uso do microscópio de luz e sobre o uso atual da Microscopia Virtual (MV), respectivamente. Baseando-se nos dados obtidos e em concordância com outros estudos, constatou-se preferência pela MV, com médias significativamente maiores em quase todos os itens. Em síntese, observa-se que a MV é uma ferramenta viável de ensino da histopatologia e pode se apresentar com caráter substituto ou complementar em relação ao método tradicional.
