Resumo O desempenho da iluminação natural de ambientes pode ser avaliado por meio de várias ferramentas, a maioria baseada na iluminância. Mesmo com os avanços nas últimas décadas, principalmente os computacionais, a definição dos pontos da malha é deixada, em geral, para escolha do simulador. Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar a influência da malha de pontos no desempenho das métricas: iluminância média (Em), uniformidade (U), autonomia de luz natural (ALN), autonomia de luz natural contínua (ALNc), autonomia de luz natural espacial (ALNe), iluminância útil de luz natural (IULN) e exposição solar anual (ESA). A simulação computacional foi realizada pelo TropLux, em ambiente de 6 m2 x 6 m2 sem proteção solar. Realizou-se análise exploratória e estatística, utilizando a ANOVA, teste de Tukey e matriz de correlação. Os resultados indicam que a grade de pontos influencia na precisão das métricas estudadas. Para Em, U, ALN, ALNc, ALNe e IULN os resultados se estabilizaram a partir de uma malha de 6x6 pontos, com distância entre pontos de 1,00 m, enquanto para ESA ocorreu a partir da malha de 11x11 pontos, ou distância entre pontos de 0,54 m. O trabalho sugere que uma análise distinta das contribuições da luz do sol direta e da luz do céu levando em consideração o tamanho da malha pode otimizar o desempenho computacional, mantendo a precisão.
A configuração das janelas pode influenciar na luminosidade do ambiente e na comunicação visual de pacientes com o meio exterior. Para o bom aproveitamento dos benefícios da janela em ambientes hospitalares é importante verificar a contribuição da altura do peitoril. Esta pesquisa investiga a influência do peitoril no desempenho luminoso e na visão de céu em enfermarias hospitalares na cidade de Maceió, Alagoas. O objeto empírico compreende seis enfermarias femininas com mesmo desenho de janelas, mas com posição vertical e orientação distintas. Foi feita uma análise comparativa entre duas posições verticais da janela: alta e baixa, por meio de simulação computacional usando o software TropLux. Os resultados mostram que nos espaços analisados há ocorrência de desconforto devido ao excesso de luz natural, especialmente de luz direta do céu e do sol, causando ofuscamento. A falta de protetores solares nas aberturas faz com que haja grande quantidade de luz dentro do ambiente hospitalar, que é menos expressiva nas enfermarias que têm janelas voltadas para o vazio interno da edificação.
O estudo do comportamento da iluminação natural no ambiente construído pode ser feito utilizando as métricas de desempenho da luz natural. Seu cálculo pressupõe a definição de parâmetros, como a malha de sensores no plano de trabalho, que é uniformemente distribuída no plano. Este artigo tem objetivo de identificar a relação entre a malha de pontos de cálculo da iluminação natural e as métricas de desempenho. As métricas estudadas foram: Iluminância média (Em); Uniformidade (U); Autonomia da Luz Natural (ALN) e espacial (ALNe); Iluminância Útil de Luz Natural (IULN); e Exposição Solar Anual (ESA). Utilizando um ambiente com abertura lateral em fita, sem obstrução externa, o plano de trabalho foi dividido em nove setores de mesma área, em que foi variada a malha de 1x1 a 6x6 no setor. A simulação computacional foi realizada pelo TropLux 8, seguidas das análises exploratória e estatística. Observou-se que setores mais próximos a abertura necessitam de malhas com maior densidade de pontos para que as componentes da luz natural mantivessem valores estáveis. O estudo aponta que o processamento das malhas para as componentes da luz natural direta e refletida pode ser realizado em separado, com densidades diferentes de pontos por setor.
A utilização de ferramentas de estatística na análise de dados em estudos na área de conforto ambiental, ainda é algo pouco comum, mesmo tendo sido amplamente utilizada na elaboração de métodos experimentais e softwares. O artigo tem o objetivo de levantar a ocorrência da utilização de ferramentas de estatística em publicações nacionais na área de conforto luminoso, com ênfase na iluminação natural. Foram escolhidos os artigos de dois eventos da área de conforto ambiental, o ENCAC e o ENTAC, no período entre 2009 e 2019. Para cada artigo foi definido um índice denominado de potencial do uso de estatística, baseando-se nas variações de parâmetros de simulação ou de medição, para fins de comparação. Foram analisados um total de 233 artigos. Observa-se que há a crescente presença de pesquisas que se utilizam de simulação computacional, também de forma associada à medição. O uso da estatística ainda é baixo, perto dos 22%, enquanto que mais de 80% dos trabalhos possuem potencial de uso. Conclui-se que a utilização de tais ferramentas de análises de dados ainda é muito restrita, mas com grande potencial de uso.
