Introdução: A medicina vem apresentando uma crescente expansão da mão de obra feminina. Apesar de uma maior valorização e confiança em mulheres nos espaços pediátricos, as violências de gênero fazem parte da agenda de saúde. Objetivos: Este estudo objetivou investigar como os pediatras percebem as vivências de gênero no cotidiano do trabalho discutindo os efeitos desse na prática profissional. Métodos: Estudo descritivo, exploratório e qualitativo, realizado em um hospital universitário com 14 pediatras do serviço de urgência e emergência. As entrevistas semiestruturadas foram realizadas virtualmente investigando dados sociodemográficos, percurso formativo e profissional. As narrativas foram analisadas pelo método de Análise de Conteúdo. Foram formadas cinco categorias: escolha pela especialidade; maternidade; lugar de acolhimento; violências; o médico homem. Resultados: Observa-se que pediatras constroem seu cotidiano profissional a partir de valores conservadores de ancoramento patriarcal e machista. Conclusões: O conjunto das narrativas coloca a importância do enfrentamento da desigualdade de gênero no âmbito da formação médica. Palavras-chave: pediatria; gênero e saúde; iniquidade de gênero.
Um novo vírus altamente contagioso surgiu em dezembro de 2019 na China e rapidamente os casos começaram a se espalhar pelo mundo levando medo a todas as nações. A doença denominada “coronavirus disease 2019” (COVID-19) tornou-se o mais grave problema de saúde pública desta geração. Na faixa etária pediátrica, as manifestações clínicas da COVID-19 podem envolver quaisquer aparelhos e sistemas, desde quadros assintomáticos até óbitos. O objetivo deste estudo foi descrever a experiência de um médico pediatra na assistência à saúde da criança durante o enfrentamento da pandemia da COVID-19. Trata-se de um relato de experiência acerca da sua vivência durante a pandemia construído através das narrativas do próprio autor a partir de suas memórias, desde os primeiros casos até a chegada do vírus ao seu dia a dia. Um dos principais problemas enfrentados foi a escassez de equipamentos de proteção individual. Medidas de proteção adequadas para todos os profissionais, além do suporte psicológico devem ser implementadas nos serviços de saúde, a fim de minimizar a sobrecarga emocional.
A prática médica contemporânea prioriza a doença em detrimento da complexidade do processo saúde-doença. Na atenção ao recém-nascido (RN), isso não é diferente, entretanto a vulnerabilidade dos sujeitos demanda uma prática de cuidado integral, individualizada e relacional. Objetivo: conhecer como neonatologistas percebem/caracterizam a relação médico paciente no contexto a saúde do recém-nascido.
Resumo: Introdução: A escolha da carreira médica representa uma importante decisão do profissional, cuja motivação pode ser determinada por fatores internos ou externos ao indivíduo. Objetivo: Este estudo teve como objetivo compreender os fatores que contribuíram para a esco-lha da pediatria entre os pediatras de um hospital universitário. Método: Trata-se de estudo descritivo, exploratório e qualitativo, realizado em um hospital universitário com 14 pediatras. A coleta de dados foi realizada entre fevereiro e abril de 2021 por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Analisaram-se os dados com base na análise de conteúdo. Resultado: A identificação com crianças, a satisfação profissional, o perfil clínico e a maternidade foram fatores internos que motivaram a escolha dos pediatras. Dos fatores externos, o ambiente, os aspectos da criança, a família e os profissionais foram fundamentais para decisão. Conclusão: A afinidade com as crianças, a exposição ao campo de prática, a relação com os pro-fessores e a identidade com o trabalho clínico contribuíram para a escolha da pediatria.
