ResumoEste trabalho foi realizado com o objetivo de determinar o período total de prevenção à interferência (PTPI) das plantas daninhas na cultura da alface do tipo crespa, cultivar Solaris. O experimento foi instalado na Universidade Estadual de Londrina, no período de outono/ inverno de 2008. A cultura permaneceu livre da interferência das plantas daninhas desde o transplante até: 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 e 60 dias. O delineamento utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. A comunidade infestante da área foi composta principalmente de Bidens pilosa, Amaranthus hybridus, Oxalis corniculata, Euphorbia heterophylla, Spinacia oleracea, Commelina benghalensis e Lepidium virginicum. As massas seca e fresca das plantas daninhas e o número de folhas da cultura foram determinados. Admitindo-se 5% de tolerância na redução da produtividade da cultura, o período total de prevenção à interferência (PTPI) ocorreu 21 dias após o transplante. A interferência das plantas daninhas durante todo o ciclo de vida da alface reduziu a produtividade em 25%. The experiment was conducted in Universidade Estadual de Londrina, in the period of autumn/ winter of 2008. The lettuce crop remained free from weed interference from emergence up to 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 e 60 days. The experiment was arranged in a randomized block design with four replications. The weed community was composed by Bidens pilosa, Amaranthus hybridus, Oxalis corniculata, Euphorbia heterophylla, Spinacia oleracea, Commelina benghalensis e Lepidium virginicum. It was determined dry and fresh matter of weeds, and number of lettuce leaves. Assuming a tolerance of 5% for crop production decrease, it was verified that the total period of interference prevention (TPIP) occurred up to 21 days after transplanting. Weed interference throughout the crop cycle reduced 25% of its yield.

-This research was carried out to evaluate the interference periods and phytosociological indexes of the weed community on sweet sorghum, hybrid CVSW 80007, cultivated for two seasons in a year. The treatments were based on an increased duration of weed presence and weed absence after sowing (0, 4, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 56 and 68 days after crop emergence for the summer season and 0, 4, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63 and 100 days for the fall season). The weed community was evaluated based on the number of weeds and the dry mass of each weed population in each period of weed control in the summer season and each period of no weed control and weed control in the autumn season. These data were used to determine the relative indexes of density, dominance and importance, and the weed community indexes of diversity and equitability. The main weeds comprising the community were Cyperus rotundus, Alternanthera tenella, Indigofera hirsuta, Amaranthus sp., Digitaria nuda, and Portulaca oleracea. The weed density was found to be the primary factor for the importance of weeds in the community, once their development and biomass accumulation were suppressed by the sweet sorghum competition. The sweet sorghum hybrid proved highly competitive and, in the agro-ecological conditions of the trials, weed interference did not reduce crop yield.Keywords: Sorghum bicolor, weeds, weed competition. RESUMOO conhecimento científico sobre a biologia de plantas daninhas contribui para a implantação de adequadas estratégias de manejo e controle. Este trabalho foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de avaliar a germinação de sementes de ervaquente (Spermacoce latifolia Aubl.), importante planta infestante em áreas de reflorestamento. As sementes foram submetidas à superação de dormência, em que foram avaliados a escarificação mecânica, tratamento químico (H 2 SO 4 e KNO 3 ) e térmico, além da testemunha. Foram avaliados ainda a temperatura (10, 15, 20, 25, 30 e 35°C), filtros de luz (ausência, vermelha, verde, amarela, vermelha distante, azul, laranja e transparente) e disponibilidade de água (0,0, -0,2, -0,4, -0,6, -0,8 e -1,0 MPa) na germinação e vigor das sementes. Os tratamentos foram arranjados em delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado com quatro repetições, sendo a parcela experimental constituída por caixas plásticas tipo gerbox, com 50 sementes. A escarificação mecânica (lixa) foi o método que proporcionou melhor quebra de dormência, indicando que as sementes de S. latifolia possuem impermeabilidade do tegumento à água. As sementes apresentaram maiores percentagens de germinação em condições de leve restrição hídrica (-0,2 MPa) e a temperatura ótima foi de 25°C. A luz de cor azul reduziu a porcentagem de germinação. Dormancy break and influence of environmental factors on the germination of Spermacoce latifolia seeds ABSTRACTUnderstanding basic information on weed biology contributes to the implementation of appropriate management and control strategies. Thus, this work was developed to evaluate the germination of Spermacoce latifolia Aubl. seeds, an important weed in reforestation areas. The seeds were subjected to dormancy break treatments, in which the mechanical scarification, chemical treatment (H2SO 4 and KNO 3 ), heat treatment, and control, were evaluated. Three more tests were done determinate the effects of temperature (10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35°C), light filters (absence of light and red, green, yellow, distant red, blue, orange and clear light) and water availability (0.0, -0.2, -0.4, -0.6, -0.8 and -1.0 MPa) on the seeds germination and vigor. The treatments were arranged in a completely randomized design with four replications, and the experimental plot was constituted by gerbox plastic boxes with 50 seeds. The mechanical scarification (sanding) provided the best dormancy break, indicating that Spermacoce latifolia seeds have tegument water impermeability. The seeds showed higher germination percentage under conditions of mild water stress (-0.2 MPa) and the optimal temperature was 25°C. The blue light reduced seed germination.

In no-till farming, which integrates crops and livestock, the crop that is sown is often noted for reduced productivity. The aim of this experiment was to study the influence of a desiccation period of Urochloa brizantha 'Piatã' on sunflower 'Aguará 4' development and productivity. The desiccation was carried out using glyphosate herbicide at a dose of 1.92 kg·ha -1 . The treatments consisted of seven periods of U. brizantha desiccation (27, 22, 17, 10, 5, 3 and 0 days) prior to sunflower sowing (2010/11). The experimental design established randomized blocks with five replicates. The reduced period between cover desiccation and crop sowing impaired sunflower development (capitulum diameter, plant height, leaf area, and leaf and stem dry masses) over the course of the evaluations, especially for periods less than or equal to 10 days. Thus, our data suggest that sunflower producers should carry out the desiccation at least ten days prior to sowing.

Com o objetivo de avaliar a eficácia de herbicidas no controle de mucuna-preta conduziu-se quatro ensaios. Em pré-emergência foram utilizados os herbicidas amicarbazone (1225 g ha-1); tebuthiuron (900 g ha-1) e sulfentrazone (600 g ha-1) e em pós-emergência, além dos três herbicidas citados anteriormente, foram utilizados 2,4 D amina (670 g ha-1); atrazina (3250 g ha-1); carfentrazonaetílica (35 g ha-1) e mesotriona (132 g ha-1) aplicados isoladamente em pós-emergência em plantas em três diferentes estádios de desenvolvimento: Ensaio 1: duas folhas desdobradas (BBCH-12); Ensaio 2: sete gemas laterais visíveis (BBCH-27) e Ensaio 3: 50% do comprimento máximo alcançado (BBCH-35). O delineamento utilizado foi em blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições por tratamento. A variável avaliada (eficácia) foi submetida à análise de variância pelo teste F, e as médias, comparadas pelo teste de Tukey a 5% de probabilidade. Em pré-emergência, verificou-se que os herbicidas amicarbazone e tebuthiuron, proporcionaram 100% do controle das plantas de mucuna-preta. Na pós-emergência, o herbicida amicarbazone proporcionou controle de 100% em todos os estádios de desenvolvimentos; o mesmo resultado foi observado no tratamento com sulfentrazone e atrazine em plantas com duas folhas desdobradas (BBCH-12) e nos tratamentos com tebuthiuron e atrazine em plantas com sete gemas laterais visíveis (BBCH-27). Eficácia de herbicidas no controle pós-emergente de Sisyrinchium micranthumCav. e Agrostis sp. Abstract -This work aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of herbicides applied during postemergence on weed control in onion crop that recently have infested the onion crop areas in Monte Alto city, São Paulo state, Brazil. Fourteen herbicides, either alone or in mixture, were tested to control Sisyrinchium micranthum Cav. and an unidentified specie of the genus Agrostis. The herbicides used were: flumioxazin, bentazon + ioxynil + oxyfluorfen, fluazifop-p-butyl, fluazifop-p-butil + ioxynil, fluazifop-p-butil + oxyfluorfen, paraquat + oxyfluorfen, paraquat + fluazifop-p-butil + oxyfluorfen, metribuzin, sethoxydim, clethodim + fenoxaprop-p-ethyl, oxadiazon, trifluralin, and oxyfluorfen. Herbicide efficacy was evaluated at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 days after herbicide spraying. The herbicides paraquat + oxyfluorfen, paraquat + fluazifop-pbutyl + metribuzin and oxyfluorfen showed good efficacy for Agrostis until 30 DAS and the herbicides bentazon + ioxynil + oxyfluorfen and paraquat + oxyfluorfen was considered satisfactory for S.micranthum.

Na cultura da soja transgênica, plantas daninhas resistentes ao glifosato, como buva (Conyza spp.) e azevém (Lolium multiflorum L.), apresentam difícil controle, tornando-se necessário associar esse herbicida a outros com diferentes mecanismos de ação. O objetivo do estudo foi avaliar a influência da associação de herbicidas para o controle de plantas daninhas resistentes ao glifosato na dessecação pré-semeadura na cultura da soja e o desenvolvimento e produtividade da cultura. O experimento foi implantado na safra 2018/2019, em delineamento experimental em blocos casualizados, com oito repetições, numa área agrícola que passou o inverno em pousio. Os tratamentos experimentais foram compostos por três associações de herbicidas aplicadas aos 40 dias antecedendo a semeadura da soja TMG 7062 IPRO, sendo eles: glifosato + setoxidim, glifosato + 2,4-D + setoxidim e glifosato + 2,4-D. As associações do glifosato com os herbicidas 2,4-D e setoxidim na dessecação présemeadura da soja proporcionaram maior controle de plantas daninhas de folha larga e estreita, respectivamente. Não foram encontrados efeitos de sinergismo ou antagonismo nas associações dos herbicidas, apenas efeito de adição, melhorando o espectro de controle. Os tratamentos de dessecação pré-semeadura não proporcionaram efeito sobre o índice de clorofila Falker, tampouco na produtividade e componentes de rendimento de grãos da cultura.

-Among the herbicides recommended for the dry season and registered to sugarcane crop, amicarbazone, isoxaflutole and the association diuron + hexazinone + sulfomethuron-methyl can be highlighted. These are pre-emergence herbicides efficient against broad-leaved weeds. Morning glory causes large losses in infested sugarcane fields by bending the stalks and interfering in harvesting. In this study the effectiveness of preemergence herbicides for two species of morning glory (Ipomoea hederifolia and Ipomoea grandifolia) was evaluated. Treatments were arranged in completely randomized factorial design (4 x 7). There were four periods of water restriction (0, 30, 60 and 90 days), seven chemical treatments [diuron + hexazinone + sulfometuron-methyl (1387 + 391 + 33.35 g a.i. ha -1 ), diuron + hexazinone + sulfometuron-methyl (1507.5 + 425 + 36.25 g a.i. ha -1 ), diuron + hexazinone + sulfometuron-methyl (1658.25 + 467.5 + 39.87 g a.i. ha -1 ), diuron + hexazinone + sulfometuronmethyl (1809 + 510 + 43.5 g a.i. ha -1 ), amicarbazone (1190 g a.i. ha -1 ), amicarbazone + isoxaflutole (840 + 82.5 g a.i. ha -1 )] and a control with no application. At 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after the restoration of moisture, control was visually evaluated. After the final evaluation, the dry mass of morning glories was measured. At 90 days of water restriction, diuron + hexazinone + sulfometuron-methyl was more effective to control I. hederifolia than the amicarbazone + isoxaflutole tank mixture. The four diuron + hexazinone + sulfometuronmethyl doses have reduced morning glory dry mass to zero; whereas treatments with amicarbazone have not. The most effective treatment for morning glory control was diuron + hexazinone + sulfometuron-methyl. This result may be due to a possible synergistic interaction.
