Objetivo: Verificar a ocorrência de near miss materno pelos critérios estabelecidos pela Organização Mundial de Saúde em pacientes internadas em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva.
Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo transversal, quantitativo, descritivo e retrospectivo. A coleta de dados foi realizada em unidade de terapia intensiva no período de 1º de janeiro a 31 de julho de 2020. Foram incluídas mulheres que apresentaram pelo menos um critério de
near miss.
Resultados: Foram identificados nove casos de near miss materno. A maior ocorrência deles foi observada em mulheres acima de 30 anos, casadas e pardas. Quanto às complicações, houve predominância da hipertensiva, com índice elevado de pré-eclâmpsia e síndrome HELLP.
Conclusão: Espera-se que os resultados apresentados neste estudo contribuam para ampliar o conhecimento sobre a identificação, através dos critérios da OMS, de casos de
near miss materno, tornando-o ferramenta essencial e estratégia promissora para a redução da mortalidade materna.
