Thus, we intended to test this work and get the best mathematical model to estimate leaf area of mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Haden according to their dimensions Allometric. We used a greengrocer located in São Domingos property in the municipality of Alegre, southern Espírito Santo, which was collected 80 sheets of 20 hoses in October 2013. The regressions were determined considering the actual leaf area as the dependent variable and the length (L), width (W) and the product of the linear dimensions (L x W) of each sheet as independent variables. Based on these results, we conclude that the polynomial equation y= 4.7677+ 0.6934x -0.0001x 2 was the best mathematical model to estimate the leaf area of the hose, with R² of 0.97. Models using the product L x W are best suited to estimate the leaf area of the hose, since the highest correlation.
The objective of this work was to test and obtain the best mathematical model for boldo (Plectranthus ornatus) leaf area estimative according to its allometric dimensions. A boldo culture situated at the propriety São Domingos in the municipality of Alegre -ES was used, where 80 leaves with distinct physiologic age were collected from 12 shrubs in October 2013. The regressions were determined considering the real leaf area (RLA) as dependent variable and the length (L), width (W) and the product (L x W) of each leaf as independent variables. Based on the obtained results, it was concluded that the exponential equation = 22033e 0,1523x was the best mathematical model to estimate the boldo leaf area, with R² of 0.62. The models which used only the leaves width showed to be more appropriate to estimate boldo's leaves area, once they presented higher correlation.
Tamarillo (Solanum betaceum Cav. Syn Cyphomandra betacea Cav.) Sendt is a small tree native to the subtropical Andean region of South America from Colombia to Chile, popularly known as arboreal tomato, belonging to the family Solanaceae. The objective of this study was to evaluate the physicochemical characteristics of fruits and the germination of tamarillo (Solanum betaceum) seeds produced in the Caparaó-ES and MG regions. The following procedures were performed: Fruit and peel biometrics; fruit weight; pulp and peel weight; thousand-seed weight, pulp and peel yield and fruit dry mass. In the physicochemical analysis, the following parameters were determined: pH; soluble solids; titratable acidity and ratio. For the analysis of the physiological quality of the seeds, different temperatures (20˚C; 25˚C; 30˚C and 20˚C -30˚C) were evaluated in the presence and absence of light and the following was determined: Seed moisture content; germination; germination speed index; germination mean time; shoot length; root and total seedling dry mass.Tamarillo in the region of Caparaó-ES presents greater chemical characteristics of the fruits, germination and vigor, and in the region of Caparaó-MG presents greater physical characteristics of the fruits. Tamarillo can germinate both in the presence and absence of light, although in the presence of light, it presents greater vigor.
