El artículo busca comprender la relación entre las tensiones de género por la posición contracultural de mujeres en cargos de jefatura en minería en Chile y las estrategias y capacidades para enfrentarlas, entendidas como agencia. Al analizar cualitativamente 13 relatos de vida, concluimos que aun en contextos de desigualdad de género, trayectorias ascendentes, interrogan al orden tradicional. Las principales tensiones se presentan en los roles familiares, poder y reconocimiento, representaciones culturales del medio y redefinición de identidades. Las estrategias, preeminentemente individuales, refieren a: arreglos conyugales más igualitarios; continuidad de estudios; identidad basada en la acción, éxito y logros; conjugar fortaleza de carácter y seguridad en sí mismas con trato amoroso, rechazando la masculinización de los liderazgos.
El objetivo de este artículo fue actualizar tanto el perfil como los indicadores de precariedad laboral de la población asalariada agrícola temporal, estableciendo consideraciones de género y migración, para aportar un panorama y contexto para los estudios contemporáneos del sector. Se realizó un análisis descriptivo a partir de datos de las encuestas CASEN, principalmente 2017 y 2020. En los resultados de perfil obtuvimos un aumento y consolidación de la feminización del trabajo asalariado temporal agrícola, en particular del sector frutícola; un aumento relevante de la extranjerización de la población trabajadora asalariada de la rama, en su interior con preeminencia de población haitiana y venezolana; un leve aumento en el promedio de edad de las mujeres temporeras; y con características de residencia más urbana, al igual que los/as migrantes. En los resultados de indicadores de precariedad se obtuvo desigual acceso a la estabilidad de empleo por sexo, pues las mujeres acceden mayoritariamente a empleos de carácter estacional, a diferencia de los hombres, igual como lo era hace una década; menor protección por condición de mayor informalidad en la población temporera agrícola comparada con la población asalariada total del país, siendo más prominente en los/as migrantes; que podría asociarse a mayor relación con intermediarios tanto de los/as temporeros/as agrícolas, pero más aun de los/as migrantes; mayor desprotección previsional para la vejez de los/as temporeros/as en relación al total de la fuerza laboral; casi nula pertenencia a sindicatos, lo que pone de manifiesto una barrera estructural en cuanto a protección de derechos laborales; y mayores índices de pobreza por ingresos en la rama, confirmando que, tener empleo no garantiza estar fuera de la pobreza, agudizándose esta situación en la población migrante asalariada agrícola para el 2020. Desprotección, inestabilidad y desregulación formarían parte de la normalización de la precariedad del trabajo asalariado agrícola.
Resumen
El artículo reflexiona sobre los cambios y continuidades en el ejercicio de la paternidad en trabajadores rurales agrícolas de la zona central de Chile y la incidencia de las transformaciones producidas en el trabajo agrícola, como el carácter temporal, flexible y la asalarización femenina, en las actuales prácticas y representaciones sociales de género en la paternidad y formas de vida familiar. Como ha ocurrido en el conjunto de la sociedad, el retroceso del padre ausente y periférico ha dado lugar al padre presente y afectuoso, sin implicar un cambio profundo del modelo de familia moderno-industrial, toda vez que la paternidad se sigue construyendo prioritariamente en torno al rol proveedor y al modelo hegemónico de masculinidad.
