ResumoEste artigo explora a diferença entre estrutura e semântica como chave explicativa para as reivindicações da teoria dos sistemas acerca de suas vantagens como autodescrição sociológica da sociedade moderna. O argumento central é o de que a teoria dos sistemas se utiliza dessa diferença para explicar como estruturas sociais desencadeiam semânticas específicas. A relação entre estrutura social e semântica é mediada pela complexidade das estruturas. Nesse sentido, a teoria dos sistemas se distingue de teorias pós-modernas, do discurso ou do poder. Em lugar de constatar a pluralidade de narrativas e tirar daí consequências muitas vezes precipitadas acerca da contingência, como a centralidade do poder na reprodução social (um primado do "político"), a teoria dos sistemas insiste em um primado do social que aponta para as raízes estruturais da visibilidade dessa contingência. Isso torna a sociedade capaz de refletir sobre suas possibilidades a partir de uma teoria adequada à sua própria complexidade.Palavras-chave: Teoria dos sistemas. Complexidade. Estrutura/semântica. IntroduçãoNo presente trabalho, pretendemos realizar uma confrontação da teoria do discurso com as teorias do reconhecimento, as quais parecem ter ganhado bastante destaque nos últimos anos. Servemnos de objeto as teorias de Jürgen Habermas e Axel Honneth, a partir das quais realizamos uma pesquisa dos fundamentos de uma teoria crítica normativa da sociedade sob condições pós-metafísicas de pensamento. A intuição principal é de que, apesar
RBCS Vol. 24 n o 69 fevereiro/2009de uma deflação normativa, sobretudo no que diz respeito à teoria da evolução que serve de fundamentação para o universalismo jurídico, a teoria crítica ainda pode contar, no interior desse "giro ao reconhecimento", com um núcleo normativo que serve para identificar patologias sociais como problemas de injustiça social. Dessa maneira, mesmo diante de uma "transformação hermenêutica", não teríamos de abrir mão daquilo que, a rigor, é a tarefa de uma teoria crítica desde o seu nascedouro no Instituto de Pesquisas Sociais de Frankfurt, na década de 1920.Num primeiro momento, analisaremos de modo introdutório as visões distintas que Habermas e Honneth têm da modernidade como horizonte normativo. Depois, caracterizaremos o que denominamos uma transformação hermenêutica da teoria crítica da sociedade, analisando a transformação metodológica proposta pela teoria do reconhecimento em relação aos fundamentos da idéia
Este artigo trata das críticas, elaboradas por Albrecht Wellmer, ao tipo de teoria moral baseada em princípios universalistas. Inicialmente, é abordada sua tentativa de uma reelaboração da própria idéia de universalismo moral, para depois esboçar a radicalidade de sua crítica a qualquer moral universalista. Nesse ponto, a Ética do Discurso de Jürgen Habermas, é que lhe serve de objeto. Por fim, também a partir de Wellmer, apontam-se possíveis alternativas a esse tipo de ética, sobretudo, a formulação de um ponto de vista moral fundamento numa teoria do reconhecimento social.
ZusammenfassungIn diesem Artikel wird der Frage nachgegangen, ob und wie sich Ansätze der politischen Theorie, die sich mit der Frage des Politischen beschäftigen, mit der Systemtheorie verbinden lassen. Der Artikel verweist auf die Probleme, die sich ergeben, wenn man Differenztheorie und Machttheorie konzeptuell gleichsetzt und versucht zu zeigen, wie eine Integration von Hegemonietheorien und systemtheoretischer Soziologie sowohl aus theorietechnischen wie auch erkenntnistheoretischen Gründen problematisch sein kann. Am Ende wird darauf hingewiesen, dass im Rahmen der Systemtheorie gute Gründe genannt werden können, keine überpolitisierte Auffassung des soziologischen Gesellschaftsbegriffs zu vertreten.
