A Prova Brasil tem o intuito de verificar o desempenho cognitivo de estudantes nas disciplinas de Língua Portuguesa e Matemática nas séries do quinto e nono ano do Ensino Fundamental. Com dados de reprovação e evasão, formam o índice da Educação Básica-IDEB. Este índice, segundo a literatura especializada, tem gerado diferentes tensões no contexto escolar, e tal fato motivou analisar as implicações da Prova Brasil nas aulas de Língua Portuguesa a partir das vozes de estudantes avaliados. Os dados são um recorte de duas pesquisas de mestrado já concluídas, sendo uma com o foco no quinto ano e outra com o foco no nono ano, e ambas objetivam compreender os sentidos da Prova Brasil de Língua Portuguesa para os sujeitos avaliados. Para análise dos dados, foi utilizada a teoria enunciativa do Círculo de Bakhtin, que orienta a compreensão de sujeito, sentido e gênero do discurso, e contribuições dos estudos sobre avaliações em larga escala. Este artigo tem como objetivo geral analisar as implicações da Prova Brasil na disciplina de Língua Portuguesa para as turmas de quinto e nono ano de duas escolas do Médio Vale do Itajaí. Como resultados, este trabalho apresenta que as atividades de leituras em sala de aula são orientadas para habilidades técnicas, e as relações dialógicas são esmaecidas em virtude da resolução de testes. Assim, aponta-se para a necessidade de ampliar as discussões sobre a Prova Brasil, incluindo os estudantes avaliados.
