Abstract-Over the years, technology appears to be making life easier and better. However, in some instances, it appears technology is counterproductive. Mobile learning devices, as the name suggests, have been developed to facilitate learning on the move. The questions are: Are these devices truly facilitating learning? If they are truly facilitating learning, are they facilitating learning positively or negatively? To answer these questions, the survey research design was adopted on a sample of 215 randomly selected students. In the process, questionnaire and focused group discussion guideline were used to collect relevant data. Data analysis was both qualitative and quantitative. Some of the core findings from this investigation were that majority of the respondents, and by extension the target population, were barely using the tablets and free internet browsing megabytes [10Gb monthly] given to all students for the intended purpose of learning. Some were pre-occupied with downloading videos, films and music while some spend endless hours playing computer games or chatting on social networks with the attendant consequence of poor learning, dwindling academic performance and productivity. Relevant recommendations to redress this unwholesome trend were proffered.
This study was conducted to examine the influence of female genital mutilation on women sexual activities in Oke-Ona community, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun-State, South-West Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria with respect to: sexual satisfaction, sexual desire and virginal penetration experience. In order to achieve its aim, the study raised three hypotheses, each on sexual satisfaction, sexual desire and virginal penetration experience. These hypotheses were tested through t-test statistical method via the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 23rd version. Results showed no positive interaction between genital mutilation and sexual satisfaction [t (109) = .560, P>.05]. It also revealed no significance in the mean difference frequency of sexual desire of genitally mutilated women compared to those not genitally mutilated [t (109) = - .640, P>.05]. Besides, the findings indicated no significant difference in the mean difference in the vaginal penetration experience between genitally mutilated women and those not genitally mutilated [t (109) = −1.523, P>.05]. Furtherance to the conclusions drawn, the implications of the findings were discussed and recommendations were made.
This study examined the effect of various nitrogen fertilizers in kilograms: 0kg, 30kg, 60kg, and 120kg on varieties of rice: NERICA L-19; NERICA L-20; NERICA L-41; NERICA L-42; and NERICA L-60 from the department of plant physiology and crop production in the college of plant science and crop production Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State Nigeria. Also, to determine the appropriate fertilizer at different levels and the best variety for optimum yield of rice and to compare the treatment means for each of the crop varieties. Analysis of Variance technique was used to investigate the effect of various kilograms of nitrogen fertilizers on the yield of the five different types of NERICA rice. The findings revealed that at all the levels of nitrogen fertilizers applied, 30kg of nitrogen fertilizer gave the optimum yield. Further to that, the study discovered that different levels of the nitrogen fertilizers applied did not significantly influence the tons of NERICA rice produced, that is the yield of rice in tons is independent of kilograms of nitrogen fertilizers applied. NERICA L-42 of rice is therefore recommended to farmers to be planted with 30kg of nitrogen fertilizers.
