Abstract.Developing new, eco-friendly solvents which would meet technological and economic demands is perhaps the most popular aspects of Green Chemistry. Natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) fully meet green chemistry principles. These solvents offer many advantages including biodegradability, low toxicity, sustainability, low costs and simple preparation. This paper provides an overview of knowledge regarding NADES with special emphasis on extraction applications and further perspectives as truly sustainable solvents.

Physico-mechanical properties of the products based on filled epoxy-oligomeric mixtures composed of Epidian-5 epoxy resin, oligoesteracrylate TGM-3 and monoperoxide derivative of Epidian-6 epoxy resin (PO) have been investigated. CaCO 3 was used as a filler and polyethylene polyamine was a curing agent. The effect of PO and CaCO 3 on the gel-fraction content and physicomechanical properties was examined. Using a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) the morphology of the samples has been studied.

Abstract.1 Coumarone-indene resins (CIR) with carboxy groups were synthesized via cooligomerization of unsaturated compounds presented in light fraction of coal tar and its fraction boiling out within 423-463 K with the addition of such industrial monomers as styrene, maleic anhydride, glycidyl methacrylate and methacrylic acid. 2,2`-Azobis(2-methylpropionitrile) in the form of 0.2 M solution in toluene was used as an initiator. The effect of monomers nature, initiator amount, temperature and reaction time on the yield and characteristics of resulted CIR has been determined. The structure of the synthesized CIR was confirmed by IR-spectroscopy. The conversion of unsaturated compounds during synthesis of CIR with carboxy groups was determined by gas-liquid chromatography.

The chemical modification of tar with formaldehyde as 37% aqueous solutionhas been studied in the presence of the catalysts. Hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide and acid tar were used as the catalysts. The effect of the catalyst nature and amount, as well as temperature, process time and initial components ratio on the softening point, penetration, brittle point and adhesion to crushed stone has been determined. The structure of the modified tars was confirmed by IR spectroscopy. The structural-group composition was determined. Arene-formaldehyde resins have been synthesized on the basis of toluene and modified tars using hydrochloric acid as a catalyst. The synthesized resins were characterized using IR spectroscopy. The chemistry of the tar modification with formaldehyde has been proposed.
