The Association of Theological Schools in North America has adopted “globalization” as the major program emphasis for the 1990s. This is an analysis of the new opportunities which result for missiology and the missiologist within North American theological seminaries. Missiology can move from the periphery to the integrative core of the theological curriculum, relating globalization to the central task of the church and its ministry to be in mission.
Although Liberation Theology is often accused of being disinterested in evangelism, here Professor Thomas posits that the dynamic movement in latin American Christianity is towards an integral concept of liberation and evangelization and then goes on to describe how evangelism and justice are related.

Harare 1998, the Eighth Assembly of the World Council of Churches, was designed to set new directions for the world body in this its jubilee year. In this article expectations and key issues are identified. The WCC at Harare modeled a new style for world conferences that gives space for expression and even confrontation of differing interests and convictions with cross-fertilization by delegates and invited guests. Priority issues for the world body in mission and evangelism are identified.
