Palabras clave: Capacidades dinámicas; Negocios unipersonales; Modelo de negocio; Teoría fundamentada; Capacidades dinámicas individuales. v Abstrac Objetive: The purpose of this study is to identify the model that explains the process of creating dynamic capabilities in the single-person businesses of the music industry. Methods: Following the design of the constructivist grounded theory, the cross-sectional study was carried out with 20 sole proprietorships in the music sector, with participants residing in 10 different countries. The study was done under inductive and abductive reasoning, through the technique of the semi-structured interview. Results: Through the comparative analysis, two business groups were identified as resistant and dynamic, according to their relationship with the components of dynamic capabilities. It was identified that the single-person businesses that had greater interaction with these components, experienced better adaptation to the dynamic environment of the industry. Likewise, it was observed that the emotional factors of the owners are relevant for the development of dynamic capabilities in this type of business. Discussion: This study proposed substantive theory about the processes of development of dynamic capabilities in sole proprietorships. The contribution of the study is the presentation of a theoretical model of dynamic capabilities composed of four constructs, which are the capacities of exploration, assimilation, adaptation and focus. It is concluded that the sole proprietorships that develop the four components of the proposed model manage to develop dynamic capabilities and are distinguished by the actions that integrate these processes and by their favorable results.
