Objectives: To describe the different complications of the JJ catheter, and to determine the association between the duration of implantation and the occurrence of complications. Patients and methods: Retrospective descriptive study of 37 cases of patients with complicated ureteral stents collected from January 2016 to April 2017; Results: The average duration of implantation was 7months and 10d, 37 patients (mean age 41. 5) were included: 26 men and 11 women, the most frequent complication was encrusted JJ (70.2%), followed by urinary tract infection (21.6%), an endo-urological treatment was chosen in first intention and consisted in the extraction of the double J catheter under cystoscopy (with recourse to an endolithotomy in case of encrusted JJ), allowing to obtain a very good results.
Spontaneous rupture of the ureter is very rare condition, and usually results from an obstruction of the urinary tract due to a stone. Few cases of spontaneous rupture are described in the literature, often considered theoretical because of the absence of an obvious etiology, as was the case of our patient where no cause was found, which makes the particularity of this clinical case.
Genitourinary malakoplakia (GUM) is a rare and chronic form of bacterial soft tissue infection, which primarily affects the genitals and urinary organs. the diagnosis is histological. Symptoms may include itching, pain during sex, bleeding, abdominal pain and burning during urination. Although treatment usually includes antibiotics, corticosteroids or anti-inflammatory drugs, and a variety of other medications and procedures may be needed to treat the symptoms. In some cases, surgery is also indicated.
Myoid tumor of the testis is a rare neoplasm that originates from the smooth muscle cells of the tunica albuginea. It is usually benign and presents as a painless testicular mass. The diagnosis is confirmed by histopathological examination. The treatment of choice is radical orchiectomy. Recurrence is uncommon, and long-term follow-up is recommended. In this abstract, we review the clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of myoid tumor of the testis based on current literature.
