Organic farming and family farming: obstacles and opportunities ABSTRACTOrganic production has been growing in Brazil and in the world, spurred by a growing demand for healthy foods and the conscience of the producer to reduce the use of pesticides in crops, due to the risks to health and the environment. Concomitant to this scenario, there are two issues: the organic certification process, which seeks to ensure a product/process quality to consumers; and family farming as one of the possible responsible for development of the sector. This context is part of this work, which aims to present the opportunities and obstacles that the family farming finds in the national scenario production and organic certification. Regarding the methodology, this review can classified as descriptive as it has as primary objective the establishment of relationships between variables. To achieve the proposed objective, the bibliographical research as a methodological tool. The results demonstrated that there seems to be harmony between family farming and organic system requirements, but some obstacles still prevent this development in your fullness, as the lack of technical assistance, knowledge about certification systems, credit, access to appropriate tec...
