This article deals with an evaluation of some teacher support teams (TSTs) and the way they can be utilised in response to current pressures and demands. TSTs take as their focus the teacher and not the child. Through self‐supportive networks teachers can gain greater understanding of classroom problems and increase their competence in dealing with them. Harry Daniels and his colleagues have developed this technique in a number of London schools and report on its effectiveness.
