Resumo: Este trabalho se insere no debate sobre as interpretações dos governos Dilma Rousseff e da crise que levou ao impeachment em 2016. O artigo toma como base a hipótese de André Singer sobre a coalizão produtivista e o deslocamento político do empresariado industrial para, a partir da análise de declarações de empresários no jornal Valor Econômico entre 2011 e 2014, verificar se a mudança de posicionamento da burguesia industrial de fato se concretizou. As declarações foram classificadas como favoráveis, contrárias ou neutras em relação ao governo e à política econômica. A presidenta contava com amplo apoio do empresariado até o primeiro semestre de 2013, contudo, do segundo semestre até o final de 2014, predominam as manifestações contrárias. Os resultados sugerem que o comportamento político dos industriais não pode ser explicado apenas como reação pragmática às condições econômicas adversas.
