Este trabalho avalia quatro métodos de estimativas de irradiação global no plano inclinado, comparando as estimativas com valores medidos em superfície. Os valores medidos são provenientes de uma estação solarimétrica padrão SONDA (Sistema de Organização Nacional de Dados Ambientais) instalada na Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR) campus Curitiba sede Neoville e os dados da irradiação difusa são estimadas pelos métodos de Erbs et al (1982) e Souza et al. (2020). Foram utilizados modelos matemáticos consolidados por Liu e Jordan (1963), Hay-and-Davies (1980), HDKR (método proposto por diversos autores Hay-and Davies (1980), Klucher (1979) e Reindl (1990)) e o modelo de Perez et al. (1990) para estimar a irradiação global no plano inclinado na latitude. Para validação dos dados e verificação do melhor modelo para a cidade foram utilizados parâmetros estatísticos. Os índices estatísticos mostraram resultados bastante satisfatórios quanto às estimativas, onde todos os valores de rRMSE para todos os modelos estudados foram menores que 20%, o que de acordo com o indicador considera o desempenho dos modelos como bons.
