O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar as principais causas de infecções relacionadas ao cateter venoso central em pacientes da unidade de terapia intensiva, identificar as condições que amenizam ou retardam a evolução das infecções e avaliar as ações de enfermagem para prevenção das infecções. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, realizada nas bases de dados BVS e Google Acadêmico durante os anos de 2014 a 2019. Dos onze artigos avaliados, emergiram três categorias para responder aos objetivos propostos. Identificou-se que as causas relacionadas as infecções se associam a introdução do cateter, técnica incorreta de inserção e manuseio, ausência de treinamentos, baixa adesão a higienização das mãos, longo tempo de permanência e troca de curativos desnecessário. As ações que reduzem essas causas se relacionam a utilização de precaução de barreira, uso da clorexidina 5%, higienização das mãos e utilização de bundles. Nos cuidados de enfermagem, evidenciou a adesão prática das normas já existente, avaliação diária da prática e aplicação de assistência asséptica.
Este trabalho vem para elucidar os receios e dificuldades que as gestantes apresentam durante o parto normal, bem como o conhecimento que as mesmas apresentam por esta opção de parto. É reconhecido que a visão da maioria da população é de um momento de sofrimento e dor, esquecendo-se que o nascimento natural é algo próprio da mulher. Uma pesquisa de campo, de natureza quali-quantitativa, que por intermédio de entrevistas semiestruturadas, realizadas com puérperas que realizaram o parto via vaginal buscaram. Objetivando conhecer as dificuldades que se apresentaram no momento do parto normal e verificar o conhecimento prévio das puérperas sobre o parto normal. Apresentando um resultado significativo para o medo da dor a ser sentida, bem como a adesão pelo parto normal é de maioria multíparas que já haviam passado pelo processo natural. Concluindo-se que as barreiras criadas pelo parto normal, é quebrada quando a paciente tem conhecimento e segurança, dando-se destaque ao papel dos profissionais de saúde que repassam as informações essenciais para a escolha da via em que a mulher irá ter seu filho.
