Objetivo: Delinear o perfil epidemiológico de pessoas com Doença de Parkinson. Métodos: Estudo longitudinal transversal com abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa com 32 pacientes com Doença de Parkinson idiopática, com coleta de dados através de questionário sociodemográfico e análise de dados realizada por meio de estatística básica. Resultados: A maioria dos participantes apresentou idade média de 60,3 anos, com 65,6% dos participantes sendo do sexo masculino, casados (78,1%), com 2º grau completo (34,4%), naturais de João Pessoa (63%) e apresentavam predominantemente o tipo clínico misto (53,1%). O tempo de diagnóstico médio encontrado foi de 76,8 meses e média de IMC de 24,7. A média do histórico de quedas foi de 1,07 ao ano e a maior proporção dos participantes apresentaram dominância hemisférica esquerda com 93,8% e lado esquerdo do corpo como o mais afetado (59,4%). A maior parte dos indivíduos foram classificados no estágio 2.0 HeY (43,8%) e 50% da amostra não apresentava freezing. O MEEM teve uma média de 27,3 e a medicação mais usada pelos participantes foi Prolopa HBS com 40,6%, além de 12,5% fazer uso de ansiolíticos, 6,3% de antidepressivos, 12,5% de antihipertensivos, 3,1% de hipoglicemiantes e 6,3 de fármacos utilizados para diminuir a secreção gástrica. Conclusão: Essas informações são de vital importância para um melhor entendimento das características da DP, contribuindo assim para identificação de fatores de risco e a elaboração de estratégias de tratamento mais eficazes voltadas para essa população.
RESUMOO AVE é uma das principais causas de incapacidade em longo prazo, tornando o comprometimento motor após o mesmo, uma das principais deficiências em adultos nos países ocidentais. Em decorrência disso, a prática motora intensiva explorada na fisioterapia faz-se essencial para induzir plasticidade cortical, reaprendizagem de capacidades perdidas e retenção em longo prazo. Abordagens de reabilitação vêm sendo testadas como uma intervenção complementar, como a ETCC. O objetivo deste estudo consiste em analisar os efeitos da associação da ETCC Bihemisférica com a TRIMm sobre a função motora da extremidade superior em pessoas pós AVE crônico. Trata-se de um ensaio clínico aleatorizado, controlado e duplo-cego, realizado no laboratório NeuroMove de Fisioterapia da UFPB com 4 indivíduos de ambos os sexos, com idade entre 40-70 anos. Os participantes foram alocados em dois grupos: i) ETCC bihemisférica associada à TRIM e treino motor (n=2); ii) ETCC bihemisférica simulada associada à TRIM e treino motor (n=2). As medidas de mensuração do desfecho foram obtidas antes do início do tratamento (Av1), após 8 sessões (Av2) e após follow-up de 4 semanas (Av3). Os desfechos foram: função motora (Escala Fugl-Meyer), recuperação funcional (Teste Jebsen-Taylor) e atividade motora do membro superior afetado (Escala MAL). No fator Tempo observou-se diferença significativa no escore total da escala Fugl-Meyer (p=0,015) e no domínio IV (p=0,018). Nos desfechos secundários não houve diferença significativa para nenhuma das variáveis. Na interação Tempo por Grupo e Grupo também não houve mudanças significativas em ambos os grupos. O protocolo com associação da ETCC bihemisférica à Terapia de Restrição-Indução do Movimento modificada não mostrou diferença significativa entre grupos para os desfechos analisados. Entretanto, foi observado melhora no tempo para esses desfechos, demonstrando a eficácia da TRIM como alternativa terapêutica para protocolos de reabilitação.
A doença de Parkinson (DP) é o segundo distúrbio crônico neurodegenerativo mais importante nas sociedades desenvolvidas. Estudos demonstraram que o uso de estimulações cerebrais não invasivas pode ser útil no tratamento dessa afecção neurológica. Logo, objetivou-se analisar os efeitos obtidos no aprendizado motor ao realizar a ETCC précondicionante sobre a ETCC ativa, por meio da observação da polaridade ideal de estimulação. Trata-se de um estudo crossover, no qual participaram 9 sujeitos, de ambos os sexos, com diagnóstico de DP idiopática e com estadiamento da doença entre 1 e 3 na escala de Hoehn e Yahr. Todos os participantes foram submetidos, em momentos distintos, as duas formas de intervenção propostas. Foi aplicado a ETCC pré-condicionante (anódica ou catódica, durante 15 minutos) seguida da ETCC ativa anódica (20 minutos), realizada concomitantemente ao treino motor. Para a avaliação do aprendizado motor foram utilizados a MDS UPDRS-III, e realizados o 10MWT, TUGT, STS, BBT, 9HPT. Foi utilizado o software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 20), considerando um nível α de 5% e um IC de 95%, além do Microsoft Office Excel 2010. Os resultados demonstraram não haver diferença significativa entre os grupos com pré-condicionante anódica ou catódica. A MMCI foi alcançada na mobilidade funcional (STS) pela pré-condicionante anódica e na função motora (UPDSR-III) por ambas pré-condicionantes (anódica ou catódica). A partir dos resultados obtidos, conclui-se que o uso de pré-condicionantes durante o tratamento é indiferente ao aprendizado motor de indivíduos com DP e que o uso da ETCC ativa anódica e o treino motor são os únicos responsáveis pelos ganhos nesse aprendizado.
