Abstract:The present work investigated the antinociceptive and antiinflammatory activities of the Porophyllum ruderale (Jacq.) Cass., Asteraceae, aqueous extract (PRAE). For this purpose, acetic acid writhing, paw licking induced by formalin, hot-plate and pleurisy tests were performed. The doses of 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg (p.o.) significantly inhibited the writhing 63.4, 89.6 and 94.8%, respectively, in comparison with control group. The lick of the paw 1 st phase was reduced at the dose of 400 mg/ kg (24.9%), while the 2 nd phase had reduction at doses 200 and 400 mg/ kg (23.1 and 34.4%), respectively. The PRAE inhibited the carrageenaninduced neutrophil migration to the peritoneal cavity in a higher dose (p<0.05). Taken together, our results suggest that the PRAE can constitute target potential for use in therapies of the pain and inflammation.
The quality of work life (QWL) has a close relationship with the labor activities performed by the worker; it impacts their physical and mental health, their social life, their behavior and performance. Correlate the QWL scores with socio-demographic variables of professionals in nursing that work at Material and Sterilization Center area (MSC)of a Medical school in the State of Minas Gerais. Cross-sectional, quantitative, descriptive and analytical study. Through interviews were applied: The Socio-demographic Questionnaire (LINO, 1999) and the scale Quality of Life at Work (TIMOSSI, 2009). For exploratory analysis all the data had been analyzed throughthe program "Statistical Package for the Social Science" (SPSS) version 21.0. It was used the Cronbach's alphaα as coefficient in order to test the reliability of the QWL instrument. For correlation between the QWL scores and the quantitative socio-demographic variables it was applied the Spearman correlation test. 40 employees had participated in the study. The QWL instrument indicated that more than 50% of the employees were satisfied. The domain of "Social integration" obtained a result of 70.15%. The domain "Use of skills" was the one that obtained the highest median in satisfaction, 72.76%. The domain "Opportunities" obtained the lowest median presented 61.10%. The values of α>0.70 indicate good reliability of the instrument for the sample. The income was correlated in a significant way (p < 0.05), moderate and positive way (r = 0.356) with the domain "Fair and Adequate Compensation"; and the income was correlated in moderate and negative way (r =-0.402) with the "Work and Life". The results show that variables as remuneration and fair and adequate compensation have relationships with psychometric variables of workers, such as quality of life, satisfactions and professional motivation. Aside, these results can help health institutions realize management strategies for workers.
This paper describes the study and implementation of a chatbot tohelp users of public services with their most frequent questions. The chatbot was developed based on the TF-IDF (Term Frequency -Inverse Document Frequency) model, using the Python languageand the Django framework. Functions such as registration of questionsand answers, were implemented using the Java language withAPI Restful and Spring Boot, and the MongoDB database. Finally,to enable the interaction of internal and external users with thesystem, front ends were built using the TypeScript language andthe Angular platform. The system is in the testing and validationphase.
Objective: to reflect on the connection between self-image, self-esteem, active sexuality, and quality of life in ageing; identify which measurement instruments in Brazilian and international literature interconnectively address the connections referred to in the general objective. Method: a theoretical-reflexive essay. Results: the reflection was described in the guiding axes: Connections between self-image, self-esteem, active sexuality, and quality of life in ageing; Interlocutions and instruments for measuring the connection between sexuality and ageing. Instruments in Brazilian and international literature are unable to address this topic in an interconnected way. Limitations and disadvantages of application with elderly individuals are presented. Final considerations: carrying out qualitative research and validating quantitative instruments that show connections and interlocutions, without stigmas and reprimands, common in this age group, should be encouraged in the scientific field and in social spaces.
