The aim of this study is to investigate studies and trends in infographics in order to determine the specifications of its scientific content. The study analyzes 161 theoretical and experimental research papers published between 2006 and 2016 through the utilization of both qualitative and quantitative indicators. Citation analysis is used in this research in order to examine studies related to infographics that are indexed in scientific journals. Infographics and data visualization related keywords are jointly used in the search for documents. As a result of this research, it can be seen that the number of citations and the number of research papers significantly increased in 2016 and also the result allows the researchers to specify the attributes of the contents of the scientific journals. In future research, it is recommended that the citation analysis method is combined with other types of analysis.
Nowadays, quick development in technology have a remarkable efficiency in learners' educational life. The modern technologies that utulized in instruction are developing in order to deliver valuable information rapidly, regardless of time and place, modern media illustration format transpired. Infographic is the example of this format. Infographics can be defined as providing information in a certain stream with the aid of a story and various visuals such as writing, painting, drawing, graphics, sound and video rather than trying to explain an event, information, data or content contextually. Hence, education through infographics not only assists learners to explain information visually but also provide learners with an extensive and broader form of learning and comprehension in instruction. Furthermore, todays instructors need to provide and design a learning environment that enhances the students' experience, as well as their capability of choosing, developing and integrating visual materials in their instructions. Therefore, virtual literacy and infographics skills play a very significant role in the digital-age instructors' toolbox. The aim of this study is to explain advantages, design principles and steps of design infographics according to new trends in education. The paper would be useful for anyone interested in designing, preparing and implementing infographics in education.
People must be qualified to adapt to developments resulting from the fast evolution of information and technology. This would be accomplished by incorporating technology into instruction. To survive in the world of science and technology, the disciplines that will continue to play a significant role in the future are Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). In this respect, several studies have been carried out on enhancing STEM education in colleges. This research aims to evaluate these studies and the trends used to define the scientific content criteria. The citation analysis method investigates STEM-related papers indexed in scholarly publications. A total number of 202 studies published between 2017 and 2022 were examined. According to the study's results, the number of citations and research articles increased remarkably in 2021. This result enables researchers to describe the characteristics of the contents of scientific journals.
