A glassy carbon electrode modified with an open-chain crown ether, 1,11-bis(8-quinolyloxy)-3,6,9-trioxaundecane (BQT), using a spin coating method, has been applied for the highly selective and sensitive analysis of trace amounts of Hg II . The modified electrode Hg II ion was spontaneously deposited on the modified electrode and the resulting surfaces were characterized by anodic stripping voltammetry. The linear sweep voltammogram of the modified electrode deposited with Hg II ion shows a well-defined anodic peak at þ0.17 V.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
