O presente trabalho discute a perspectiva de valoração ambiental a partir de fundamentos heterodoxos, numa abordagem aqui denominada institucional-ecológica. Inicia-se pela identificação das principais limitações da abordagem neoclássica e suas correspondentes proposições de valoração, particularmente tendo-se em vista o desafio posto pelo critério de Desenvolvimento Sustentável. Em seguida, busca resgatar princípios propositivos de abordagens heterodoxas, particularmente nas formulações do campo teórico institucionalista e do campo teórico da economia ecológica, como elementos de potencial integração analítica para a constituição de uma conceituação heterodoxa de valores ambientais. Por fim, o trabalho propõe, a partir de uma discussão sobre o processo de formação e internalização dos valores ambientais e desse potencial de integração analítica, bases de constituição de uma abordagem institucional-ecológica para interpretação da valoração ambiental e, dentro dessa perspectiva, discute ao final qual o escopo de aplicação dos métodos de valoração correntemente utilizados pela Economia Ambiental Neoclássica.
This report attempts to bring together contributions from technicians and scientists studying and dealing with the manifold aspects of the São Paulo City Green Belt Biosphere Reserve. It will highlight the understanding by UNESCO of the important role that biosphere reserves can play in the urban setting.
Realizada pela ONU em 1992, a Conferência sobreDesenvolvimento e Meio Ambiente consagra a noção deDesenvolvimento Sustentável, nascida na década anterior. Três anosdepois, surge o Centro de Desenvolvimento Sustentável da Universidadede Brasília (CDS/UnB), que antecede o boom dos programas de pósgraduaçãointerdisciplinares e se insere no crescimento de programasvoltados à relação entre ambiente e sociedade. O presente artigo refletesobre algumas das inovações e desafios desse centro, que construiusua identidade no binômio sustentabilidade e interdisciplinaridade.Portanto, aborda essas duas noções antes de adentrar a trajetóriaespecífica do centro em seus componentes de inovação e desafios.Como considerações finais, o artigo apresenta uma reflexão sobre onovo desenho do campo da sustentabilidade e os desafios para osprogramas de pós-graduação que lidam com o tema.
