Esta pesquisa, realizada com agentes comunitários de saúde (ACS), objetivou: (1) avaliar a saúde mental em ACS; (2) descrever os eventos vitais vivenciados no último ano por ACS; (3) averiguar o nível de ansiedade apresentado por ACS; (4) correlacionar saúde mental, ansiedade e eventos vitais em ACS. Participaram 116 ACS. Instrumentos: questionário sociodemográfico, Questionário de Saúde Geral de Goldberg, Escala de Eventos Vitais, Inventário de Ansiedade Traço-Estado. A maioria dos ACS apresentou grau de ansiedade moderado e saúde mental positiva e relatou ter vivenciado poucos eventos estressantes no último ano, embora a maioria tenha tido problemas de saúde. O fato de estarem presentes níveis de ansiedade, mesmo moderados, sugere uma provável interferência de características específicas da profissão. Entretanto, o fato de a pessoa identificar subjetivamente a ansiedade e classificá-la em um determinado nível pressupõe que esteja usando estratégias de controle, fato esse que auxilia a manter a saúde mental.
RESUMO. Foram investigadas relações entre senso de ajustamento psicológico e perspectiva de velhice em adultos e idosos com deficiência física. Participaram 90 pessoas, de ambos os sexos, com idade entre 25 e 84 anos, que responderam aos instrumentos: questionários sociodemografico e sobre a deficiência física; Inventário Sheppard de Atitudes em Relação à Velhice Pessoal; Escala de Desenvolvimento Pessoal (ajustamento psicológico). Os índices de ajustamento pessoal foram de moderados a altos, mas as mulheres pontuaram mais baixo. Para toda a amostra, quanto maior o senso de ajustamento, mais positiva a perspectiva de velhice pessoal. Os com deficiência congênita e os mais ajustados psicologicamente mostraram perspectivas mais positivas de velhice pessoal. Concluiu-se que envelhecer com uma deficiência física é um processo que exige competência adaptativa e resiliência aos eventos de vida e aos desafios acarretados pela deficiência. RESUMOAs doenças crônicas, entre elas a insuficiência renal crônica, têm recebido grande atenção dos profissionais de saúde nas últimas décadas devido ao importante papel desempenhado na morbimortalidade da população mundial. Este trabalho pretende apresentar um relato de experiência sobre o atendimento psicológico, realizado numa clínica de hemodiálise, de 26 pacientes com idades entre 15 e 80 anos, a maioria mulheres (69,2%), casados (53,8%), que não trabalham (92,3%) e aposentados (57,7%), fazendo hemodiálise três vezes por semana. No lugar de reagir passivamente a eventos negativos, indivíduos podem se comportar de modos que aumentem seu bem-estar em tempos de desafios e mudanças, como no caso de se ter uma insuficiência renal crônica. A forma como as pessoas lidam com o sofrimento e seus benefícios pode trazer possibilidades de ajustamento e crescimento pessoal frente à adversidade.
Essa pesquisa, realizada com participantes do grupo de teatro Os Mais Vividos, objetivou: a) investigar o bem-estar subjetivo; b) averiguar a resiliência; c) levantar a percepção de suporte social; d) correlacionar bem-estar subjetivo, resiliência e percepção de suporte social. Participaram 12 idosos (idade média 68 anos ± 10,57). Os Resultados indicaram que os participantes relatam bemestar subjetivo positivo, apresentam níveis de adaptação psicossocial positiva frente a eventos de vida importantes, avaliada pela resiliência e percebem suporte social nos aspectos emocional e prático. As correlações indicaram que quanto maior a idade, maior a resiliência apresentada por idéias de independência e determinação; quanto maior o tempo no grupo, maior a vitalidade; quanto maior a percepção de suporte social, maior o número de afetos positivos experimentados; quanto mais sentimentos positivos apresentam, maior o nível de satisfação com a vida; a medida que experienciam afetos negativos, tornam-se mais resilientes
