The adjustment for Cohen is a fundamental starting point to understand the power relations in the interstate system. Supposing that international political economy is cyclical, the processes of adjustment usually result in an uneven distribution of the costs in crises times, putting power asymmetries in evidence and also intervening in power distribution among states. In reading the concept of adjustment, in the sense that was appointed, one can get a good way to capture the relational contemporary dynamic of political power in the interstate system. In sum, we are trying to link the thematic of adjustment with the distributive conflicts taking in account that it was not handled directly by Benjamin Jerry Cohen, but that can be useful to fully comprehend the current dynamics of the global economy.
