Mediante la comparación de sus parámetros poblacionales, fecundidad y tasa sexual, se evaluó el desempeño de cuatro poblaciones de Trichogramma pretiosum Riley: dos líneas puras altamente endogámicas (98%) con bajo y alto desempeño (2 y 43 respectivamente) y dos líneas genéticamente variables (producto de la combinación de 26 líneas puras) con 2 y 40 generaciones. Los resultados muestran que tanto en los parámetros poblacionales Ro, T, λ y rm, como en la fecundidad, la línea genéticamente variable con dos generaciones presenta los mejores resultados seguido de la genéticamente variable con 40 generaciones, después se ubica a la línea 43 y por último a la línea pura 2. Se compara la fecundidad y proporción sexual observada a las 48 h y total. La fecundidad a las 48 h no presenta diferencias significativas en entre las líneas genéticamente variables y la línea pura 43. La proporción sexual observada a las 48 h, no presenta diferencias significativas entre las dos líneas genéticamente variables y la línea pura 43, relación que cambia en la proporción sexual total, donde se observó que las líneas genéticamente variables producen un mayor número de machos en los días subsecuentes.
Se evaluó en maíz genéticamente modificado (GM) con el evento Agrisure® VipteraTM 3111, la incidencia y severidad de pudrición de mazorca por Fusarium sp., en dos localidades de Culiacán, Sinaloa. En El Camalote, el híbrido observó una incidencia y severidad de 47.2 y 22.5% respectivamente; comparado con el híbrido convencional con control de plagas que presentó 54.7 y 27.1% de incidencia y severidad de pudrición y el híbrido convencional (testigo absoluto), tuvo un mayordañoconunaincidenciade59.4y35.2%deseveridad. EnlaevaluacióndeOsoViejo,elhibridoAgrisure®VipteraTM 3111 presentó menor daño con 25.7 y 7.6% de incidencia y severidad de la enfermedad respectivamente; el híbrido convencional con control de plagas tuvo una incidencia de 67.5% y una severidad de 38.7%, y el testigo absoluto tuvo el mayor daño 80.8 y 53.5% de incidencia y severidad. El maíz Agrisure® VipteraTM 3111 no fue desarrollado para el manejo de enfermedades, no obstante; el resultado encontrado demuestra que el maíz genéticamente modificado confiere un beneficio adicional indirecto al de resistencia a insectos plaga, previniendo la formación de puntos de entrada para fitopatógenos que se desarrollan en el tejido susceptible, provocando la pudrición de mazorca.
Los mosquitos son una plaga en todo el mundo, debido a las enfermedades transmitidas a los seres humanos procedentes de mamíferos o aves que migran de un lugar a otro. Los extractos de plantas prometen ser una alternativa debido a que no provocan efectos secundarios para el medio ambiente y al ser humano. Por lo anterior el objetivo de este trabajo fue; determinar el efecto insecticida de extractos vegetales sobre larvas de Culex tarsalis en el laboratorio. El trabajo se desarrolló en el laboratorio de la Universidad (UAAAN), donde se obtuvieron los extractos (metanólicos y hexánicos) de plantas y se realizaron los bioensayos. Las concentraciones evaluadas fueron: 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900 y 1000 ppm y la lectura de muertos fue realizada a las 24, 48 y 72 h después de la aplicación de los tratamientos. Los resultados fueron analizados en el PC-Probit para la CL50. Los extractos de semillas (Annona muricata, Carica papaya y Azadirachta indica) mostraron los mejores resultados al matar con 1000 ppm más de 80% de la población desde las 24 h. Los extractos vegetales de Annona muricata, Carica papaya y Azadirachta indica mostraron ser una buena alternativa para el control de Cx. tarsalis.
Braconidae es la segunda familia de Hymenoptera con mayor diversidad en el mundo, e incluye parasitoides de insectos y de otros artrópodos. Para Aguascalientes, hasta 2017, sólo se conocían siete subfamilias, ocho géneros y cuatro especies. En el presente trabajo se recolectaron 608 adultos de Braconidae correspondientes a 18 subfamilias, 44 géneros, tres especies y 107 morfoespecies, obtenidos en 111 localidades de los once municipios; de las cuales, 11 subfamilias, 39 géneros y tres especies corresponden a nuevos registros para la entidad. Este trabajo permitió incrementar el registro a 18 subfamilias, 47 géneros y siete especies de Braconidae para el estado de Aguascalientes. La mayoría de los géneros son cosmopolitas y las especies son Neárticas y Neotropicales. Los géneros más abundantes fueron Opius, Aphidius, Trioxys y Aleiodes.
