No Brasil é considerado idoso, o indivíduo com 60 anos ou mais. O envelhecimento se entende como um processo natural e contínuo que acarreta alterações fisiológicas, biológicas e funcionais (senescência). Conforme a senescência ocorre, os indivíduos idosos tornam-se menos ativos e mais propensos a incapacidade física, funcional, mental e social, levando a um aumento do risco de quedas, que é a principal causa de Fratura do Fêmur (FF) em Idosos. O objetivo desse estudo foi analisar a relação das internações, dos óbitos e do valor total gasto em reais por FF durante a hospitalização. Foi utilizada uma busca na base de dados do DATASUS pelo Sistema de Informações Hospitalares e Sistema de Morbidade Hospitalar, sobre a análise epidemiológica da Fratura de Fêmur no município do Rio de Janeiro durante o período de Janeiro de 2010 e Dezembro de 2020. Houve um predomínio das internações, óbitos e gastos para o gênero feminino, sendo 2020 o ano de maior destaque para as variáveis. Conclui-se que no município do Rio de Janeiro, as internações, óbitos e gastos por FF está se elevando a cada ano. Sendo importante investir em políticas públicas de educação em saúde visando a prevenção das FF em idosos.
