Este trabalho concentra-se na baixa proporção de jovens que estudam cursos em ciências e engenharia. Em particular, o foco é colocado nesse grupo na taxa de mulheres ingressando em carreiras em ciências e engenharia (STEM). Esse é o efeito, acreditamos, de um problema maior que gera a brecha de gênero e a baixa acessibilidade das mulheres à educação e, principalmente, à ciência. De um grupo de pesquisa em ensino de ciências da Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade Nacional de La Plata, pretende-se contribuir para a análise desse fenômeno. Um questionário é construído como um instrumento para obter dados sobre a motivação expressa por um grupo de estudantes da Faculdade para a escolha de suas carreiras. Os resultados indicariam que o ensino médio e a família são as esferas educacionais e sociais que mais influenciam a escolha dos jovens em geral, e de mulheres em particular, para estudar carreiras de engenharia. Além disso, verifica-se que elas não têm modelos femininos para se referir a essas carreiras. O que foi observado serviria de base para gerar estratégias educacionais, políticas e sociais que colaborem com maior acessibilidade, motivação e interesse das mulheres em estudar carreiras em ciências e engenharia.
Este artículo presenta un estudio que utiliza los datos proporcionados por el Ministerio de Salud de Argentina sobre el número de personas infectadas, fallecidas y recuperadas por la enfermedad de Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-2019). El modelo estándar Susceptible-Infected-Removed (SIR) se usa para simular la población infectada de esta epidemia en Argentina. El modelo SIR, desarrollado por Ronald Ross, William Hamer y otros, es una representación matemática de cómo una infección se propaga en una población en el tiempo. Este modelo tiene dos parámetros, la tasa de transmisión por cápita, β, y la tasa de recuperación, , siendo 1/ el tiempo medio que el individuo permanece infectado. En este trabajo, el parámetro se considera constante y el parámetro β se ajusta con el tiempo con datos reales, de tres formas distintas, que luego se comparan simulando la evolución epidémica mediante el modelo SIR. Se muestran los resultados obtenidos con datos reales del inicio de la pandemia, del 3 de marzo de 2020 al 21 de julio de 2020. Finalmente se concluye que el modelo se ajusta satisfactoriamente a los datos de Argentina como consecuencia de la variación temporal propuesta de β en corto y mediano plazo.
En este trabajo se propone un dispositivo didáctico para la enseñanza de ciertas temáticas relacionadas con el Control Estadístico de procesos para abordar algunas de las problemáticas observadas a partir de una investigación realizada sobre la enseñanza y aprendizaje de la Distribución Normal a nivel universitario. Se elabora, implementa y evalúa una enseñanza por investigación mediante una Actividad de Estudio e Investigación (AEI) dentro del marco de la Teoría Antropológica de lo Didáctico (TAD) en un curso integrado por alumnos de grado y de posgrado para carreras de ingeniería de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP). La actividad propone enseñar en la pedagogía de la investigación y del cuestionamiento del mundo a partir del estudio de un problema en el cual el alumno toma un rol activo en contraposición a la enseñanza tradicional que se utiliza generalmente en el ámbito universitario. El proceso de estudio se organiza en torno a buscar respuesta a una pregunta, que en este caso es: ¿Cómo producir partes intercambiables de automóviles en una fábrica? El objetivo es describir y analizar la implementación de este tipo de dispositivos didácticos, en términos de la TAD para carreras de ingeniería, y las praxeologías (saberes y saberes-hacer) que se construyen durante el proceso de estudio.
