El Índice de Precios al Consumidor permite interpretar la inflación a través del cálculo de la variación anual de los precios, sin embargo, el problema al realizar dicho cálculo radica en la dificultad de recopilar información de los precios relativos de bienes y servicios, lo que provoca distorsión junto con inconsistencias en la aplicación del índice calculador. El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar los agregados monetarios a través de sus dos componentes principales M1 (oferta monetaria) y M2 (Liquidez total) y su relación con el comportamiento de la inflación. La metodología aplicada tomó un enfoque cuantitativo, puesto que, se utilizó un modelo econométrico de correlación lineal con datos anuales comprendidos en el periodo 2007 – 2020. El principal resultado obtenido refleja que existe endogeneidad entre masa monetaria e inflación, lo que significa que, es posible considerar a los agregados monetarios para la toma de decisiones con respecto a política monetaria.
