RESUMO Apresenta-se o estudo taxonômico de 35 espécies de Anthurium seção Urospadix subseção Flavescentiviridia, com base em análises dos caracteres morfológicos vegetativos e reprodutivos, a partir de material coletado em campo e de exsicatas de diversos herbários nacionais e internacionais. A subseção caracteriza-se pela lâmina foliar de consistência membranácea a cartácea, esverdeada discolor, com nervuras secundárias geralmente impressas adaxialmente e proeminentes abaxialmente em diversos graus, são geralmente ombrófilas e esciófilas. Registros inéditos de morfologia vegetativa e reprodutiva estão sendo apresentados, especialmente em relação às bagas (A. acutum, A. urvilleanum, A. hoehnei, A. ianthinopodum, A. loefgrenii, A. longicuspidatum, A. luschnathianum, A. marense e A. mourae). Apresenta-se uma chave para identificação das espécies, descrições detalhadas, comentários sobre a distribuição geográfica, ecologia, fenologia, conservação e ilustrações para cada uma delas.
Maior grupo de plantas do mundo, as angiospermas, também tratadas como divisão Magnoliophyta, têm seu nome derivado do grego angio = urna e sperma = semente. Esses termos juntos fazem alusão à presença do fruto envolvendo as sementes. Além da presença de carpelos desenvolvidos protegendo as sementes, há uma série de apomorfi as defi nindo o grupo, tais como o desenvolvimento de ápice caulinar com túnica-corpo em duas camadas, estômatos com as bordas das células-guarda no mesmo nível do poro, fl ores perfeitas (bissexuadas), óvulos marginais, anátropos, bitegumentados e tegumentos com duas a três células de espessura, pólen bicelular ou eventualmente tricelular no momento da liberação da antera, presença de sifonogamia, tubo crivado (fl oema) alongado com paredes de calose, dupla fecundação e endosperma triploide e celular (APG III 2009). Muitas dessas sinapomorfi as experimentam modifi cações de forma independente, ao longo dos grandes clados das angiospermas (ex. posição dos óvulos, confi guração das fl ores). Com o incremento dos estudos morfoanatômicos e ontogenéticos em grupos sabidamente basais na fi logenia das angiospermas, algumas das sinapomorfi as supracitadas têm sido melhor entendidas. Williams & Friedman (2004) mostraram que o típico gametófi to feminino do grupo, com sete células em dois módulos (micropilar e calazar), originando endosperma triploide, deve ter surgido apenas no ancestral comum do clado formado pelas monocotiledôneas + magnoliídeas + eudicotiledôneas. Isso porque nas linhagens mais basais, Nymphaeales e Austrobaileyales, o gametófi to feminino tem apenas quatro células organizadas em um só módulo (micropilar), não havendo ainda diferenciação de antípodas, e, assim, essas plantas produzem endosperma diploide na semente. Dois grandes grupos de angiospermas, dicotiledôneas e monocotiledôneas, foram reconhecidos desde 1798 por Jussieu (Lawrence 1951), que organizou as plantas em famílias, a categoria básica utilizada na classifi cação até a atualidade. Cronquist (1981), procurando retratar as afi nidades evolutivas dos grupos de angiospermas, manteve as dicotiledôneas e monocotiledôneas em nível de classe, divididas em subclasses, respectivamente Magnoliopsida (divididas em seis subclasses) e Liliopsida (com cinco subclasses). Com o advento da sistemática fi logenética, já em 1978 Bremer & Wanntorp alertavam os botânicos para o fato de que as classes e subclasses reconhecidas em angiospermas e mesmo grupos menores na hierarquia não seriam monofi léticos. Contudo, na academia e na prática a classifi cação proposta por Arthur Cronquist e outros sistemas gradistas ou evolutivos persistiram dominando até meados da década de 1990. Tampouco tiveram o impacto e a aceitação que certamente mereciam as análises as angiospermas do Brasil rafaela C. Forzza, José Fernando a.
