O estudo microscópio dos rins de seis cães (Canis familiaris) naturalmente infectados pela Leishmania donavani, demonstrou alterações glomerulares, tais como: espessamento mesangial difuso em três casos e glomerulonefrite proliferativa, focal, difusa e progressiva nos casos restantes. O autor sugere que tais alterações poderiam estar relacionadas com o calazar e provavelmente poderiam depender de um mecanismo imunitário.
The author presents a clinical and anatomopathologic study of six cases of abdominal angiostrongyloidiasis seen in the southeast part of the state of Paraná and western part of the state of Santa Catarina--Brazil. The importance of the disease, in our region is such that it should be considered in the differential diagnosis of acute abdominal conditions in children and adults. The number of cases in the last two years have increased probably related to the extensive use of pesticides on corps.

O comprometimento do sistema nervoso central na esquistossomose tem sido diagnosticado com mais frequência na última década. Os autores relatam um caso de comprometimento medular pelei Schistosoma mansoni e chamam a atenção para sua fisiopatologia e diagnóstico diferencial com as patologias neoplásicas situadas na medula espinhal e discutem seu tratamento.
Os autores apresentam um caso de angiostrongiloidose abdominal, numa criança de um ano de idade, do Sudeste do Paraná. Baseados nos dados clínicos e anatomo-patológicos identificam o parasito como Angiostrongylus costaricensis.
