Introdução: Um dos obstáculos enfrentados pelo deficiente visual é o descaso de parte da sociedade às limitações cotidianas de tal condição. Não obstante a precária participação da sociedade, os profissionais da educação e da saúde deveriam ser integrados ativamente no auxílio dessas pessoas para melhorar a sua percepção em relação à sua condição bucal. Objetivos: Este estudo revisou a literatura brasileira dos últimos 20 anos, em busca de artigos que relatem a percepção dos deficientes visuais em relação à sua saúde bucal. Método: A revisão integrativa da literatura foi o método adotado, com análise quantitativa, exploratória e descritiva dos dados. O modelo de busca aplicado foi "pessoas com deficiência visual" e "saúde bucal" e "percepção" nas bases de dados Google Acadêmico, Literatura latino-americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) e Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), da Biblioteca Eletrônica Científica Online (SciELO), com consultas feitas em maio de 2021. Resultados: Dezoito registros foram encontrados. Seis registros foram excluídos e doze seguiram para análise descritiva. Destes, oito artigos foram excluídos e quatro seguiram para síntese qualitativa. Conclusão: A percepção dos deficientes visuais foi mensurada por diversos questionários e sua saúde bucal é percebida como satisfatória. Necessitam de ações voltadas à prevenção e promoção, com materiais didáticos para educação em saúde bucal, orientação de higienização e dieta alimentar. Defendem novas formas de ensino, com mais efetividade na motivação e treinamento da habilidade psicomotora para a realização da higiene bucal. A revisão evidenciou a escassez de artigos científicos publicados na literatura brasileira.
