Characteristics of Apis dorsata`s forest honey from bioregions of Riau have not been studied intensively. This research is aiming to provide characteristic information on honey from bioregions of Riau based on SNI 8664-2018.The study was conducted in September to November 2015. Honey samples were collected from eight districts of six bioregions in Riau Province, i.e Bengkalis and Selat Panjang (downstream), Kampar (mineral forest), Pelalawan (peat swamp forest), Rokan Hilir (river bank), Siak (Acacia plantation forest), and Kuansing (oil palm and rubber plantation). Samples of each bioregion were analyzed based on SNI 8664-2018 procedures. Results show that wild honey characteristics were not significantly different among bioregions for almost all parameters in SNI 8664-2018. However, the diastase enzyme parameter in honey taken from Pelalawan was the only parameter that had significant value. In addition, the parameter of water content and reducing sugar content were only two parameters that did not meet the SNI 8664-2018 requirements. Meanwhile, the type and size of pollen could be used for determining the origin of honey between Riau bioregions. ABSTRAKKarakteristik madu lebah hutan Apis dorsata yang berasal dari bioregion Riau belum dipelajari secara intensif. Penelitian ini mempelajari karakteristik madu lebah hutan dari bioregion Riau berdasarkan Standar Nasional Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan September hingga November 2015. Tiga sampel madu hutan diambil sebagai ulangan pada setiap bioregion dan dianalisis berdasarkan prosedur uji SNI 8664-2018. Sampel madu dikumpulkan dari enam bioregion hilir dan pesisir pantai (Bengkalis dan Selat Panjang), hutan dengan tanah mineral (Kampar), hutan rawa gambut (Pelalawan), aliran sungai (Rokan Hilir), hutan tanaman (Siak), dan perkebunan kelapa sawit dan karet (Kuansing). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang nyata antar bioregion terhadap mayoritas parameter yang terdapat pada SNI 8664-2018. Namun, parameter gula reduksi dan kadar air pada seluruh sampel yang diuji tidak memenuhi persyaratan SNI 8664-2018. Lebih lanjut, jenis dan ukuran polen yang terdapat pada sampel madu dapat dijadikan metode untuk penentuan asal usul madu berdasar bioregion.
