The spin dynamics of muonium diffusing in NaCI have been investigated using the technique of muon-spin relaxation. An effective coupling constant (<5 ex ) for the nuclear hyperfine interaction and the correlation time for motion were determined from measurements of the muon-spin-relaxation rate. At temperatures below 200 K, 8 ex is sharply reduced below that expected from the known hyperfine structure of interstitial hydrogen, providing clear evidence for derealization of muonium.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
