El artículo busca sustentar la necesidad de que la Universidad se examine a sí misma y retome su sentido crítico para reconocer el trabajo de las mujeres en la construcción del conocimiento y en el fortalecimiento de la cultura democrática. El texto se fundamenta en la revisión de fuentes secundarias, y en la reflexión en torno a normas, políticas y proyectos ejecutados en favor de la justicia de género en la educación terciaria. Plantea que la educación superior debe ponerse a la altura de los tiempos y diseñar políticas dirigidas al logro de la equidad de género y la inclusión social en sus propias prácticas.
El artículo presenta los hallazgos más relevantes sobre el acoso sexual producto de la investigación realizada sobre violencias y discriminaciones en una universidad privada en Bogotá. A partir de una estrategia cualitativa documenta y analiza las diferentes manifestaciones, escenarios y actores de este tipo de violencia, ejercida principalmente contra las estudiantes por parte de sus profesores. Recoge los talleres realizados con estudiantes, docentes y personal administrativo. El sistema sexo/género, como organizador universal de la diferencia sexual y la heteronormatividad, enmarca conceptualmente esta pesquisa.
Con base en la experiencia, la revisión documental y la sistematización de la información, en el marco del proyecto Fortalecimiento de la Equidad de Género en la Educación Superior (Feges), el propósito de este artículo es hacer un recuento descriptivo y una reflexión crítica sobre las políticas de equidad, igualdad e inclusión formuladas en los últimos años en algunas universidades colombianas, los factores que favorecen su diseño y puesta en marcha y, por último, las dificultades y los retos que afrontan la institucionalización y la apropiación efectiva de la equidad de género y la inclusión en las universidades en el país.
