Ao longo do desenvolvimento histórico do campo da administração, gestão e criação são, tradicional e implicitamente, consideradas processos antagônicos. A gestão é frequentemente definida como processo de organização e controle, ao passo que a criação é entendida corriqueiramente como processo de diferença, divergência ou desordem para se alcançar algo novo. Esta pesquisa busca fornecer subsídios para se reconsiderar essa situação antagônica. Assim, examinamos a relação entre criação e gestão no contexto de práticas de trabalho no cotidiano de uma organização voltada para o teatro e para a dança. Ao se analisar sistematicamente tais práticas com auxílio do método autoetnográfico, evidencia-se que gestão e criação são processos indissociáveis. As implicações acarretadas por essa indissociabilidade são apresentadas e discutidas à luz da teoria organizacional. A indissociabilidade do processo de gestão-criação e a necessidade de se enfocar a dimensão dinâmica da criatividade conduzem a uma preocupação de alinhamento epistemológico no que se refere à abordagem adotada sobre a gestão. Sugere-se que perspectivas "processuais-relacionais" da gestão são as que melhor potencializam o estudo da dinâmica criativa.
