A estrutura populacional pode ser direta e indiretamente alterada em função da dinâmica de interações entre predador-presa, sendo este um dos aspectos ecológicos de maior relevancia no desenvolvimento de medidas de controle biológico. No presente trabalho diferentes taxas de predação, oviposição e tamanho dos indivíduos foram observadas quando populações de Aedes albopictus foram expostas ao efeito da predação de Mesocyclops brasilianus e Thermocyclops tenuis. A comparação entre as taxas de predação das duas espécies de copépodos sobre as populações de Aedes albopictus demonstraram que M.brasilianus apresentou resultados bem mais significatovos em relação ao T. tenuis. Essa maior eficiência de predação da espécie M. brasilianus pode ser apontada como uma possível alternativa no controle biológicos de Mosquitos transmissors de arboviroses. pode estar relacionada ao seu maior tamanho quando comparado ao T. tenuis.
