Este trabalho objetiva investigar a construção de uma nova liderança na Igreja Católica sob a luz dos estudos da cenografia e ethos por Dominique Maingueneau (2008a, 2008b, 2008c, 2008d), a construção da imagem de si no discurso. A pesquisa se concentra em um infográfico do jornal Correio Braziliense, na entrevista do Papa Francisco concedida ao Padre Antonio Spadaro e publicada na revista Civiltà Cattolica, em setembro de 2013, e na Exortação Apostólica Evangelii Gaudium — A Alegria do Evangelho, publicada em novembro de 2013. Este estudo procura demonstrar que Bergoglio trabalha para constituir um ethos de humildade e abnegação que encontra força e legitimidade pelo contraste com a figura do pontífice emérito Joseph Ratzinger, seu antifiador, representante de um conjunto de valores no qual o católico atual não reconhece mais liderança. A pesquisa também pretende ilustrar o porquê de a reforma prometida com a sobrevinda de Bergoglio ao papado dificilmente corresponderia à reforma imaginada pela jovem comunidade católica no mundo. Será demonstrado que a mudança mais significativa dos dois primeiros anos do novo papa se deve ao tom de seu discurso, não a intenções de mudança em qualquer aspecto da doutrina.
Este artigo analisa a encenação discursiva no Twitter sobre um espectro político intensamente polarizado onde as partes do debate deixam de encadear uma negociação legítima de sentido entre si, dirigindo o ato enunciativo para apreciação de seus pares de debate e atribuindo ao lado oposto uma mera função a cumprir como antifiador de um mundo ético negativo cuja caracterização forja um contraste que fortalece o ethos do enunciador. O marco teórico se situa sobre a cenografia e ethos de Maingueneau (2008a), com amparo do ato ético de Bakhtin (2012) e da comunicação ubíqua de Santaella (2014). A análise recai sobre um tweet de réplica acerca da morte de Dona Marisa Letícia em fevereiro de 2017 e da atmosfera de intolerância que cobriu as redes sociais. Concluímos que as oposições da polarização operam uma encenação discursiva a serviço de sua preservação identitária que as previne de acolher perspectivas contrárias.
Este artigo tem o objetivo de analisar os modos de percepção do estereótipo e sua relação com as noções de identidade e ethos do sujeito nas redes sociais em torno de um clima político bipartidário e polarizado. O marco teórico se situa sobre a cenografia e ethos de Maingueneau (2005, 2008), sobre a noção de identidade em Patrick Charaudeau (2009) e em Ruth Amossy (2019) acerca do estereótipo e da identidade verbal. A análise recai sobre uma ilustração do artista alagoano Cristiano Suarez de abril de 2019; a ilustração causou notável movimentação nas redes sociais ao trabalhar com estereótipos políticos e símbolos nacionais, captando com precisão a dicotomia do discurso político brasileiro de 2019 de acordo com as reações provocadas em ambos os lados do espectro. Concluímos que as partes opostas do tabuleiro político derivam valores diferentes de acordo com a cena discursiva em que os estereótipos estão inseridos.
