La pancreatitis autoinmune, es una enfermedad crónica inflamatoria, de etiología incierta, que se presenta principalmente en adultos entre los 50 y 70 años de edad. Se caracteriza por presentar ictericia obstructiva e hipergammaglobulinemia (IgG4). El diagnóstico se sospecha ante hallazgos clínicos característicos y se confirma mediante criterios de imagen y serologías específicas. Se puede clasificar en dos subtipos, pancreatitis autoinmune tipo 1 y tipo 2, según el patrón histológico y presentación clínica asociada. El tratamiento se basa en uso de esteroides, y comprende dos etapas, la inducción de la remisión y el mantenimiento, presenta buen pronóstico si responde al tratamiento.
